Just entering the gate of the college, you are greeted by lush old trees, and the green leaves show great vitality. I can't wait to run up the steps and enjoy the scenery of the college.
We first went to a place not far from the door. There is a wooden pavilion. There is a stone tablet in the pavilion. There are many Buddha statues carved on the front of the monument, but the back was destroyed because of poor management during the Cultural Revolution. We all feel sorry for this. Next, I went to the Great Stone Monument, one of the three treasures of the Academy. This stone tablet has three characteristics: first, its shape is very strange, and its top is a big ball; second, its carving is perfect, and at the top of its ball, there is a picture of a dragon playing pearl carved on it, leaving a historical trace on its tablet; third, its calligraphy. There are lines of inscriptions on the stone tablet, which were carved by calligraphers of all ages. This is the first treasure.
Next, we bypassed the apricot altar, walked through a series of thresholds, and finally saw the first tree of the general cypress-General. Speaking of generals, it is actually the smallest of the three cypresses in the world. Opposite it stood two generals, about twice the size of the generals. The commentator told an interesting legend: When Liu Che came to the academy, he saw the general outside the wall. Because the cypress tree was too big, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty immediately named it General. However, as soon as he stepped into the threshold of the hospital, he regretted it because he saw the second general of General Bai. Liu Che had no choice but to make him the second general because he had already made him the general. But when he turned his face, he regretted it again, because he saw a cypress tree bigger than the second general, but he had sealed those two trees, so this one had to rank third. All three trees have their own feelings. The three generals thought they were the biggest, but they were named the third. Finally, we were so angry that we couldn't appreciate the elegance of the three generals. The second general was blown up with anger and became a hollow tree. In fact, he was lucky to live for more than 2000 years without dying. It has a history of more than 4500 years. The general thought he was not worthy to be a general, so he bent down in shame and hasn't straightened up until now. This is the second treasure of the academy.
The third treasure is three words. To my surprise, these words are so individual! The first picture is the word "Fu", and its cross in the field below is actually a woman holding a little boy within three months. The second picture is the word "Le", but it turns the picture above into a potbellied Maitreya Buddha. It's so realistic. The third picture is Buddha. The author actually painted Shan Liren as a pious young monk chanting scriptures, which is so vivid.
During my visit to Songyang Academy, I also saw forest of steles, fountains, precious rubbings of steles and ivory fossils.
Songshan Mountain, with outstanding people and outstanding spirits, contains countless treasures, and is also a treasure house containing the splendid culture of the Chinese nation.
