Zhang Zhenlin's research direction

As an ancient philologist, Zhang Zhenlin studied hard at the postgraduate stage and made many discoveries in textual research. A number of illiterates were identified in the graduation thesis, most of which were later adopted by Mr. Wang in the new edition of Jin Wen Bian. Shortly after Professor Zhang Zhenlin began to learn ancient Chinese characters, he attracted the attention of old domestic experts with a research paper on ancient Chinese characters, and his studious spirit won the appreciation of Mr. Rong Geng. 1978, Mr. Ma Guoquan, who originally assisted him, also left Sun Yat-sen University, so he left the unfinished revision and copying of Jin Wen Bian to Professor Zhang Zhenlin. After five years' efforts, the fourth edition of Jinwen Bian, which was listed as a national key project in the Sixth Five-Year Plan, was finally officially published in 1985. The margin of the fourth edition is *** 1505, all written by the professor in small letters, which reflects the professor's rigorous academic spirit and solid calligraphy skills. Jinwen Bian is a masterpiece of Mr. Rong Geng, and the fourth edition of Jinwen Bian embodies the wisdom of two generations of teachers and students. 1982 At the beginning, Mr. Rong Geng was ill for one year and died suddenly. Therefore, it can be said that without the professor's inheritance and efforts to orthodoxy, there would be no fourth edition of Jinwen Bian. Jin Wen bian (newly revised edition) 1987 won the first prize of outstanding scientific research achievements in Guangdong social sciences, and 1992 won the second prize of the first national ancient books compilation and publication by the State Council Press and Publication Administration.

Professor Zhang Zhenlin paid great attention to the comprehensive investigation of materialism and dialectics in the study of bronze inscriptions. In the long article "On the Time Marking of the Form of Bronze Inscription", the age of bronzes is studied by combining the combination of archaeological artifacts, the shape of artifacts, the style of patterns and the expression of inscriptions. He made a detailed analysis and meaningful exploration of the development characteristics of family characters, stippling, radical structure, new words, words and language formats in the form of inscriptions. This paper has certain theoretical and practical value for the study of Chinese characters and archaeology.

Professor Zhang Zhenlin also has profound attainments in interpreting bird seal. Bird seal is also called bird book. Rong Geng's Bird Book has a great influence in academic circles. Professor Zhang Zhenlin got the teacher's biography, and his own artistic accomplishment made him unique in the interpretation and reading of The Book of Birds and Insects. He is good at writing all kinds of ancient characters and styles, and his bird book is a must, which is deeply loved by collectors. In two articles, Reading the Inscription Rhyme of the Bronze Pot Printed by Wang Jingniao in Zhongshan and Reading Two Handfuls of Jianyue Wu Inscriptions, he interprets the pot inscriptions that are extremely difficult to read, and corrects the fallacies in the long-term interpretation of the inscriptions of Gou Jianjian and Fuxi Jian, the King of Yue.

Professor Zhang Zhenlin is proficient in bronze inscriptions. There are also gratifying achievements in the study of bamboo slips in the Warring States period. None of the bamboo slips unearthed from No.1 Chu Tomb in Wangshan, Jiangling, Hubei Province is complete, fragmented and of different lengths. Without precedent and literature, he explored for half a year with his profound skill and indomitable spirit in China ancient philology. Finally, according to the conditions of 10, such as the style, writing style, length and fracture shape of bamboo slips, 425 scattered bamboo slips were combined into 200 pieces, so that these bamboo tubes were reasonably reassembled, and the contents were basically clarified. Later, Yao unearthed a whole cylinder of similar content in the same area, which proved that his pioneering work was basically correct. In the early days of liberation, 37 pieces of broken pipes unearthed from the Chu Tomb of Warring States in Wulipai, Changsha, were found to be "dispatch books" composed of 18 bamboo slips after his research and reorganization.

In recent years, Professor Zhang Zhenlin is studying the transformation of ancient Chinese characters into characters. He sorted out Li's manuscripts and is currently discussing Li's changing process. In addition, the compilation of the large-scale reference book "Comprehensive Category of Golden Words", which is listed as a key project by the State Education Commission, is under way.
