Qian Zhongshu's book

There seems to be such an atmosphere among young people in modern literature and art. If you don't know a few modern people, such as Qian Zhongshu and Zhang Ailing, they haven't read their novels, such as Fortress Besieged, Love in a Fallen City and so on. , is a pseudo literature and art. ..

I really admire Qian Zhongshu's knowledge. I have read some of his books, but I haven't read his novels. I have read his comparative literature works, Guanzui Bian, Tan Yi Road and Ten Villages in Huai Opera.

I think teachers, especially Chinese teachers, rarely recommend some so-called novels and other famous books to students. Works like Guan Cone are really masterpieces that can cultivate students' Chinese reading comprehension and writing ability. Unfortunately, few teachers have read this book, and even fewer students.

I bought a copy of "The Three of us" by his wife Jiang Yang, but I really didn't read the book. Instead, I went to look at Mr. Qian Zhongshu's calligraphy album in front of the book. Mr. Qian's calligraphy inherits the gentleness and regularity of literati's calligraphy, which is much more attractive than many so-called calligraphers of his generation.

Recently, it coincides with the college entrance examination, and many people are repeating the same old story, saying that Qian Zhongshu's admission to Tsinghua is exceptional. Is that so? Of course not.

The year when Qian Zhongshu went to college was 1929, which was the second year after the Northern Expeditionary Army unified China. China's brokerage and education were still very backward. That year (Republic of China 18), Tsinghua University took only three exams except Chinese, with an average score of over 40. The foreign language department requires a math score of above 5 (full mark). Qian Zhongshu studied Chinese with his father Qian Jibo, who is also a university professor. Qian Zhongshu's Chinese is excellent, with full marks in online transmission and extremely high marks in junior college (that is, one subject), which meets the admission conditions. In addition, Qian's math score is 15, which is the lowest score of 5 in foreign languages department. Qian Zhongshu's English is very good, 100 plus 15. As long as you get five points in the English test, you can reach the requirement of an average score of 40 points. So his admission is his own admission. This is not an exceptional admission at all.
