Caotang is located on the Huanhua River outside the west gate of Chengdu. There are many pavilions and ancient trees in the park. After entering from the main entrance, Dayu, Shishi Hall and Announcement Hall are arranged on the central axis from south to north. Northeast of Gongbu Temple is the former residence of Shaoling Monument Pavilion and the great poet's thatched cottage. To the east of the thatched cottage is a bonsai garden, followed by Huanhua Temple, Huajing, Daya Gallery and the thatched cottage showroom near the south gate.
Daya Gallery was originally the Hall of the Great Heroes of Caotang Temple, which was named after the story of Daya Gallery written by Huang Tingjian, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. It officially opened in 2002. The "Daya Gallery" on the door was inscribed by Yan Zhenqing, a famous calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. Up to now, Daya Gallery has 12 sculptures by famous poets, which show the life of Du Fu and the development history of China's classical poetry.
Landmark Landscape —— Former Residence of Cabin
The former residence of the thatched cottage was rebuilt with reference to the characteristics of folk houses in western Sichuan, becoming the landmark landscape of Du Fu's thatched cottage. Du Fu used to be Lang, an employee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, so he was called the shrine. The ancestral hall has three pagodas, one room, closed hills and clear columns, high stone steps and flower-pane doors, which are solemn and solemn. There are stone carvings of Du Fuxiang in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the temple, among which the bust of Du Fu carved in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1602) is the earliest stone carving in the Caotang.
In front of Du Fu's thatched cottage, there is a path hidden by flowers and trees. In his poems, he once wrote: "My road is covered with petals-I didn't clean it for others, my thatched cottage door has been closed-but now it is open for you". Today's flower path is a red-walled path, connecting the memorial complex of Du Fu Caotang Temple and the original Caotang Temple. At the end of the flower path is the "shadow wall of the thatched cottage". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the word "Caotang" inlaid with blue and white broken porcelain in Yinzhou Mountain, Yequan Road, Sichuan Province was damaged and repaired several times.
There are three doors in the thatched cottage, of which the main entrance and the south gate are located in the south of the thatched cottage, and the north gate is located in the northwest. The main entrance and the south gate are not far apart, and tourists often come in and out from these two doors.
