The five forms of calligraphy generally refer to seal script, official script, regular script, cursive script and running script.

1, seal script.

Seal script is the natural embodiment of early Chinese characters. Its brushwork is concise and smooth; Its shape is intentional and its book is interesting. Practicing calligraphy should start with seal script; When the clouds cleared, Li Shu saw himself; Then write the script, and then write regular script. Calligraphy lovers do not seek uniformity, but follow individuality, which will become clear after a long time.

Just copy and write in regular script. Those who seal it, those who are bamboo; If you are a coward, it will be your meeting place. The shape of an elephant is also the shape of an elephant. Seal script, that is, a highly pictographic character; The font before official script. Seal script is divided into big seal script and small seal script.

2. Official script.

The horizontal (left-right) potential of Li character is changed to vertical potential to form a square, and the strokes contract the vertical potential to strengthen the horizontal potential. This is a typical feature of the pen used in official script, especially the horizontal and vertical of the main pen of official script.

The so-called "silkworm head" refers to hiding the (reverse) front in the process of using the pen, and at the same time writing the stroke shape formed in the process of starting the pen into a shape similar to that of the silkworm head. "Dovetail", that is, press the pen at the pen-receiving place, and then pick the pen obliquely to the upper right.

3. Regular script.

Regular script is also called regular script, real script and official script. Li Shu, founded by Cheng Miao, has gradually evolved and become more simplified and level. Regular script is the most popular script in China feudal society from the Southern and Northern Dynasties to the Jin and Tang Dynasties. Before the appearance of regular script, China calligraphy had produced three styles: Da Zhuan, Xiao Zhuan and Li Shu.

Generally speaking, the ancient characters before Xiao Zhuan are collectively referred to as Da Zhuan, including Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronze inscriptions and six languages except Qin in the Warring States Period. Xiao Zhuan is a popular script after Qin unified China. On the basis of Qin script, refer to other vassal scripts. In order to facilitate writing, it is standardized and unified. This is the first standardized regular script in the history of calligraphy in China.

4. cursive script.

Cursive script is the simplest writing in China. The origin of cursive script, such as running script, or other characters, is uncertain when it began. According to historical records, during the Warring States Period, Chu Huaiwang made Qu Yuan make a constitutional decree, but the draft was not published. When Shangguan Shi saw it, he wanted to take it away. The ancestors of Gaicaoshu began in. Cao Zhang's brush strokes are very simple, connected by twisted ribbons, similar to today's grass.

However, its structure is straight, its brushwork is blunt, and there are waves in the strokes, especially at the beginning and end of the painting, which obviously retains the brushwork of the official script, and its words are independent, intermittent and orderly, which is obviously different from grass and weeds.

5. Run the script.

Running script is a writing style between regular script and cursive script. Write more freely and smoothly, and those close to cursive script are called cursive script; The writing is relatively correct and stable, close to the standard of regular script. In the process of writing, the movement of brush strokes is obvious in various forms of stippling, and this movement of brush strokes often leaves mutual hints between stippling and words.

As thin as a hairspring, this is a silk thread. Running script is the quick writing of regular script, and it is the stream of regular script. Through the analysis of several groups of characters in regular script and running script, it is found that when writing in regular script and running script, the writing method of stippling and the principles to be followed when using the pen are consistent, such as centering, laying the pen, pushing the main body and hiding the front, while running script is relatively stretched and smooth.
