August 6th this year is the 5th anniversary of the death of Qu Xiao, a famous contemporary lecturer, a famous educational artist, a psychologist, and one of the four great speakers in China.
Mr. Qu Xiao is my speech teacher, who has the greatest influence on my life and speech style. Although he left us prematurely, his voice and appearance often come to my mind; I am convinced that Mr. Qu Xiao's lofty qualities, patriotic feelings, broad thoughts and atmospheric speeches will always be recorded in the heroic poems of the Chinese nation, and his name will shine through the ages and go down in history forever.
Mr. Qu Xiao is a researcher and professor of psychology in the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of CPC. He is a legendary figure who does not give in to fate, overcomes difficulties with hard work spirit and is famous at home and abroad.
he comes from a poor intellectual family. In 1953, he was admitted to Northeast Normal University from Liaoning. When he was about to graduate from the university, he was labeled as a "rightist". With this heavy "hat" on his head, he became a teacher in Xinmin Normal School, Liaoning Province, but more bad luck awaited him. Soon, he was expelled from public office and sent to reeducation through labor. Until 1965, when he was sent back to Liaoning to become a primary school teacher, he had been a herdsman in Nenjiang Grassland for four years. However, disasters are still with us. After the "Cultural Revolution" began, he was imprisoned by the Gang of Four on the charge of "current counter-revolution" and was wronged for 22 years.
In 1979, after his historical injustice was completely rehabilitated, he re-entered the forum of colleges and universities and society, and made more than 2, speeches at home and abroad on dozens of topics, such as "A Wide Heart with Selflessness", "The Value of Life" and "The Power of Faith". His speeches were thought-provoking, enlightening and inspiring, which aroused strong repercussions and widespread concern in the whole society.
in 1982, he was appointed as the vice president of Yingkou College of Education, Liaoning Province. In 1985, he was transferred from Liaoning to Beijing and became a bureau-level researcher in Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.
Teacher Qu Xiao's superb speech art and profound thoughts, as well as his consistent love and loyalty to his career, life, the party and the people, have influenced a whole generation. Because of Qu Xiao's great contribution to speech and teaching, he was elected as the representative of the Sixth National People's Congress, and was awarded dozens of honorary titles such as "National May 1st Labor Medal" and "National Model Family".
in 1985, when I first watched the video report of Mr. Qu Xiao's speech, I admired him deeply. His speech is full of personality charm, just like the marching horn and high battle songs, giving the audience the strength, confidence and courage to forge ahead.
in may 1989, when I participated in the "cup in sight" national speech contest held by the central Committee of the communist youth league in Jilin city, Mr. qu Xiao was the chief judge of the contest. So, I took the liberty of asking him for advice. When he learned that I was from Chairman Mao's hometown, he repeatedly said: Where the red sun rises, there are good mountains, good water and good places. I don't take the trouble to help me comment on my speech. I don't have any airs of being a master of speech, just like my class teacher when I was a student.
"Therefore, the heaven will assign a great responsibility to the Sri Lankan people, so we must first suffer their minds, work their bones and muscles, starve their bodies, be empty of their bodies, and mess up their actions." Mr. Qu Xiao is a person who can bear great responsibility, but I sigh that fate is too unfair to Mr. Qu Xiao. Just as he spread a deep love for the motherland in people's hearts in the form of a speech, he was knocked down by a cruel disease. On September 3rd, 1991, at the invitation of Nantong City Federation of Trade Unions, Mr. Qu Xiao finished his 251st speech in Nantong City, which was also the last wonderful speech in his life. That night, Mr. Qu Xiao suddenly suffered from a massive cerebral infarction, which led to paralysis of the whole body and hemiplegia from then on. He changed from a healthy person full of passion and vitality to a paralyzed patient who lost his language function! In the next 12 years, he struggled with his illness with amazing perseverance, still concerned about national affairs and focused on the cause of speech education in China.
Teacher Qu Xiao's life is full of misfortunes, but fortunately, he has a good wife, Feng Yulan. Under her careful care, Qu Xiao, who was considered by doctors to have little hope of recovery, was able to sit later, and then left the wheelchair and stood on crutches! In the doctor's surprised eyes, Feng Yulan began to implement her husband's next plan of rehabilitation-learning to speak! She bought baby books and taught her husband like a child. After a long effort, a miracle appeared, and Qu Xiao learned to pronounce word by word.
What is even more incredible is that Qu Xiao can't give up his love for calligraphy and stubbornly practice his left-handed calligraphy. Every time you write a word, you have to make great efforts, and every stroke is full of sweat. During the "SARS" period, Qu Xiao often watched TV and newspapers, and cared about the medical staff who were fighting in the front line. He also struggled to write down six big characters: "Fight against SARS and revitalize the people's souls". This is what he said instead of pen, that he loves the motherland, continues to shout for truth, and drum and shout for the times.
After Mr. Qu Xiao was paralyzed, I visited his home many times. I remember that in the winter of 2, when I visited his home, when he learned that I was going to publish a book on the art of speech, he immediately picked up a pen and wrote an inscription for me with his left hand, which was "selfless at heart." According to his wife, he is very excited whenever someone comes to see him. Although he can't express it in words, his actions are enough to prove it. It is no wonder that whenever I get up and leave, Mr. Qu always reluctantly struggles to stand up, with his left hand on crutches and his right hand held by people. No matter how cold or hot it is, no matter how I persuade him, he will personally take me to the elevator. Looking at the vicissitudes of teacher Qu Xiao's face and stumbling figure, I couldn't help but burst into tears and was moved.
On July 22nd, 23, well-known Chinese speakers Qu Xiao, Li Yanjie, Shao Shouyi, Yongtian Li, Cai Chaodong, Wang Jun, Feng Yuanzheng and Yan Yongping gathered at China Chess Academy to attend the 2th anniversary of the publication of Speech and Eloquence magazine and the seminar on speech career and art in China in the new era.
During the meeting, Mr. Qu Xiao, who has hardly attended the meeting since he was paralyzed, sat in a wheelchair and shook hands with the participants, nodded and took photos. His good mental state and facial expression made people unable to think that he was a patient who had been paralyzed for 12 years. At lunch, I sincerely raise my glass to propose a toast to Mr. Qu Xiao, wishing him a long and healthy life, and live for another 2 or 3 years until he is 1 years old. Unexpectedly, in just half a month's time, at 17: 52 on August 6, 23, Qu Xiao, a generation of speech masters, famous educational artists and speakers admired by thousands of people, left in a hurry because of the ineffective treatment of pneumonia, and finished his bumpy, hard and legendary life, leaving us and his persistent education and speech career forever. It left people with deep regrets and eternal memories.
since ancient times, no one has died, so take the heart of Dan to shine on the history. Teacher Qu Xiao's life is a life of defending the interests of the party and a life of being aboveboard. It is a life of pursuing truth and indifferent to fame and fortune; It is a life of "selfless heart and wide world".
