Personally, I don't object to using holidays to help children with some homework, but parents and friends must distinguish what the purpose is to make up lessons for their children. Otherwise, everything will be in vain, and it will be a loss to the children's body and mind and to the parents' fund allocation. Parents' mentality of asking their children to make up lessons can be roughly divided into the following four categories:
First, parents are busy with work and have no time to take care of their children. Children are not at ease at home, so you can spend some money for the make-up teacher to take care of them. By the way, children can also learn some knowledge.
Second, if children don't learn well in several subjects, they will use their holidays to find teachers to help them find what is missing, make up what is missing, so as to improve their grades in the new semester.
Third, children will enter a new school after summer vacation. Elementary school to junior high school, junior high school to junior high school. Use the holiday to let children learn new courses in advance and not let them lose at the starting line.
Fourth, other people's children are making up lessons, and their own children can't fall behind, and they have to attend several remedial classes.
I really feel a little helpless about the parents with the first purpose. The children's holiday is too long. Let the children stay at home for nearly two months. In case they are addicted to online games or learn badly from some social youths, it is really too late to regret it. Therefore, I sympathize with these parents and friends.
But I would like to remind these parents in particular that it is best to use holidays to improve their children's interests, such as painting, playing chess, practicing martial arts, fitness, reading and calligraphy. Or visit relatives and friends in the countryside and experience rural life. Don't sign up for a few remedial classes for your children, and everything will be fine. After holidays, many children's attention to classes will obviously drop because of the bad habits that children develop in remedial classes during holidays.
I fully understand my parents' second purpose. The current entrance examination is based on the child's total score. Lagging behind in any subject will affect children's overall grades. However, there must be a reason why a child can't learn a course well. Parents must first find out what the child's problem is, and then prescribe the right medicine to achieve the desired effect.
For example, children's poor grades are because they don't like this course, so the requirement for tutors should be to improve children's interest in this course, rather than just focusing on instilling knowledge; If the child does not master the learning method of this subject, then the tutor is required to pay attention to the guidance of the rules and methods for the child, and then keep up with the selected exercises; If the child just doesn't understand a certain concept or law, then only the tutor needs to explain this part of knowledge.
If you don't know in advance, you will blindly enroll your child in a remedial class. What the teacher teaches is not what the child needs, and the effect may be counterproductive.
For the parents of the third purpose, I want to remind them that their children are full of expectation and curiosity about the new courses they will learn. If they talk to the teacher in a hurry during the holiday, after school starts, children may lose interest in the courses they want to learn and think that they have already learned, which will affect the quality of listening attentively. Teachers in holiday remedial classes generally have no pressure. Their lectures are random, not targeted, do not pay attention to children's interest in learning, and the content goes very fast, which will affect children's study in the new semester.
My suggestion is that these children should not be allowed to attend remedial classes. It is best to buy some reference books with more examples for children through the new teaching materials, so that children can preview at home. Math, physics and chemistry, let the children do the questions while previewing, put the knowledge points they don't understand in the notebook, and then concentrate on their studies after school starts. You only need to recite words in English, because English grammar is not too much, but you have a large vocabulary. If you learn words skillfully, it will be easier when you study again.
For parents who have a fourth purpose, if the purpose is too unclear, the effect will definitely be bad.
In any case, children's holidays must not be filled by make-up classes. Children should be given enough time and opportunities to rest, entertain and adjust. After children relax, they have the energy to learn new courses after school starts. You can't tell vacation from school. If children regard holidays as school and school as holidays, their learning attitude, enthusiasm and learning effect will not be satisfactory.
It is said that parents are children's first teachers. Although children's future depends on themselves, the influence of parents on their children is still obvious. So remind parents and friends not only to pay attention to their children's achievements, but also to their lives. Don't ignore their voices with incorrect understanding.
