Anshan Post Castle, also known as "Anshan City", is located in Donganshan Town, qianshan district, the southern suburb of Anshan City, Liaoning Province. It is the best-preserved ancient city of Ming Dynasty in Anshan, named after the saddle-shaped mountain between East and West Anshan. Anshan Yibao, an affiliated building of Liaodong Great Wall in Ming Dynasty, belongs to the "isosceles trapezoid" castle and is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. Anshan Yi Bao was built in 1387 (the 20th year of Ming Hongwu), rebuilt in 1578 (the 6th year of Wanli) and turned into a brick city. It used to be a post station, with many horses and chariots, and merchants were very prosperous. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was once a battleground for military strategists, and transportation was crucial. After the railway was established in the late Qing Dynasty, the post station lost its function and gradually became a mountain village. It is now called "Anshan City". The stone tablet engraved with "Anshan Post Castle" at the southwest gate was added when 1986 was rebuilt and inscribed by the famous calligrapher Mr. Wen Tongchun. Anshan Post Castle is one of the well-preserved Ming Dynasty military ruins in Liaoning Province, and it is the data for studying the local history of Northeast China in Ming and Qing Dynasties. 1962 was announced by Anshan municipal people's government as a municipal key cultural relics protection unit, and was announced by Liaoning provincial people's government as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in 2003. Anshan Post Castle is a landmark building in Anshan, which is of great historical value.
