Historically, there was no "He". Last name?

Xiao Shenyang (1750- 1799), formerly known as Shanbao, Niu Zhilu, was born in Zhenghongqi, Manchuria. He was born in the fifteenth year of Qianlong, and his father's name was Chang Bao. He was the deputy commander-in-chief of Fujian. His ancestors were from Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province. In the early Qing dynasty, he entered the customs with the Qing emperor and lived in the donkey alley in Xizhimen, Beijing.

"Niulu" family is a very big and ancient surname in Qing Dynasty. The origin of this surname is recorded in detail in the Eight Banners of Manchu Dynasty compiled by the Qing Dynasty. It is recorded in the book that "Niulu" is one of the oldest surnames of Manchu, which existed in the period of Jurchen. This book also records that the "Cow Road" was originally mainly distributed in Songhua River Basin, Mudanjiang River Basin and Changbai Mountain Area.

"Niuhulu" originally meant a fierce animal "Wolf" in Manchu. "Wolf" is one of the important totems worshipped by Manchu ancestors. Jurchen took "Wolf" as her surname out of worship.

During the long historical development, the appellation of the surname "Niuzhilu" has changed several times: it was called "Lielie" in Liao Dynasty, "Nvxilie" in Jin Dynasty, "Yiqilie" in Yuan Dynasty and "Niuzhilu" in Ming Dynasty.

Niuzhilu is a typical Manchu surname with one surname and two surnames. Some Manchu people with this surname changed their surname to Niu according to the transliteration of the first syllable of Niu Lulu after the demise of the Qing Dynasty, and more Manchu people with this surname changed their surname to Lang according to the Chinese homonym of Niu Lulu. In other words, today's Manchu people's surnames of "Niu" or "Lang" should all be of the same clan as their ancestors in Little Shenyang.

After the demise of the Qing Dynasty, many Manchu people with compound surnames changed their surnames to single surnames, just like Niu Zhilu. Aisingiorro, for example, originally meant "gold". After the demise of the Qing Dynasty, many people whose original surname was "Aisingiorro" were renamed "Jin". There are also a few who have not changed, such as Mr. Aisinggiorro Qigong, who died not long ago. Another example is Empress Dowager Cixi's surname Ye Henala. After the demise of the Qing Dynasty, many people with this surname changed their surnames to Ye or Na.
