The real name of the stone man is Yaoshan, which is located in the west of Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province and the east of Funiu Mountain. Adjacent to Mozi's hometown; Chu Great Wall Site; It is a ancestral temple built by Liu Lei, a descendant of Yao, in memory of his ancestors. This is the birthplace of Liu's surname in the world. Because many stone peaks on the mountain resemble human figures, they were later called Duihe Mountain.
Yao legend. Li Daoyuan, a famous geographer in the Northern Wei Dynasty and the satrap of Luyang, said: "Yao Temple, Lu Xian County, is in Xishan, named Yaoshan." Yao is the ancestor of the great achievements of Chinese civilization and a figure in the legendary era. Many places have legends of his activities, and Yaoshan is no exception.
Water refers to Zhaoping Lake, a large reservoir with a storage capacity of 700 million cubic meters, and five hot springs along the Shahe River basin. Jinshan Island, Sister-in-law Stone, Qiugong Ancient City and Liu Lei's Tomb are all in Zhaopinghu Scenic Area of Lushan County.
Legends about Liu Lei. Yao Liu is rooted in Liu Lei. Liu Lei is a legendary figure. He lived in the Xia Dynasty and was descended from Yao, the clan leader. According to Zuo Zhuan and historical records, when Liu Lei was born, he had a tattoo of "Liu Lei" on his hand, which he thought was auspicious, so he named it. He is famous for protecting and training dragons, and won the title of "Family Protecting Dragons" for Jia Jia. Later, due to the mother dragon's death, Liu Lei fled with his family to Luxian County, the site of Qiugong City in Zhaopinghu Scenic Area, where he lived and died. According to Zuo Zhuan of the Warring States, Liu Lei was called "Shi" because he "learned to serve the Kongs, a female dragon died, went to feed, was found, and was afraid of moving to Luxian County". He built a temple in Yaoshan to worship his ancestor Yao Di. In Dunan Fu, Zhang Heng of the Eastern Han Dynasty recorded: "Pursuing filial piety and respecting the first emperor, establishing the Tang Dynasty to worship Yaoshan." Liu Lei is the earliest figure of Liu's surname recorded in the literature, and is regarded as the ancestor of Liu's surname. Liu Lei's tomb and other sacred places of Liu's ancestral home are all in Lushan Mountain, while the legend of Liu Lei and his dragon raising is all over Yaoshan and Pingdingshan, so Pingdingshan is also called "the hometown of dragons" by the world.
People refer to historical celebrities, such as Mozi, Yuan Jie, Niu Hao and Xu Yunuo. During the Warring States Period, Mo Zhai, a civilian thinker, social activist and founder of Mohism, Jie Yuan, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, Niu Hao, a famous scholar who resisted Jin Dynasty, and Xu Yunuo, a writer in the Republic of China, all lived in Lushan Mountain. The legend of Mozi Mozi was a great thinker, philosopher, scientist, educator and social activist in ancient China. He is a world-class cultural celebrity. His hometown is at the foot of Yaoshan Mountain. Legend has it that his birthplace is Zhuyuan Village in Yaoshan Town, and his seclusion is Tudiaogou in Xiongbei Township. After he retired, he changed his surname to "Hei", so people called his secluded place "Hei Yin Temple". There are rich teaching skills, stories, songs and legendary remains of coaches and apprentices in Yaoshan area, which strongly confirms the fact that Mozi is a Lushan native.

Lushan Mountain has always been a battleground for military strategists, and sites where warring parties stationed troops and fought fiercely throughout the ages abound. According to research, at the end of the 5th century BC, at the turn of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the vassal states stood side by side, each claiming the title of king and competing for superiority, so they built city walls on their own territory to resist the enemy's invasion. According to historical records, the wall built by Chu in present-day Henan and Hubei in the 7th century BC is called Fangcheng, which is the earliest Great Wall built in China.

Shiren Scenic Area has a long history and magnificent cultural landscape. Liu's Ancestral Hall, Mozi's hometown, Chu Great Wall ruins, retreat from Japan, Xiao He, Han Xin, garrisons of Han Dynasty, tombs and the hometown of great poets of Tang Dynasty are scattered among the beautiful mountains and rivers of Yaoshan, adding rich cultural connotations to the natural landscape.
Shiren Mountain Scenic Area, as the leader of eco-tourism development in Funiu Mountain, will develop rapidly in the future and become the pillar of tourism in Lushan County. However, the current names of stone men can't reflect their inherent cultural connotation, cut off the context of historical inheritance and lose their precious humanistic atmosphere. Therefore, on February 6, 2008, Pingdingshan Municipal Government issued a notice and decided to restore Shiren Mountain to Yaoshan Mountain. 1997 was approved by the State Council to establish a national nature reserve, announced as a national key scenic spot by the State Council in 2002, and approved as a national AAAA scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration in 2003. At present, it is applying for the national "AAAAA" tourist area and national geological park.
