Where is the location of Gong Chu Temple?

Gong Chu Temple is a cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province.

Behind Xiaziqiao Street in the east corner of Xiangxiang City, there is an ancient ancestral temple, adjacent to Lianshui, with three magnificent Chinese characters "Gong Chu Temple" listed on the main entrance. This was built by Xiangxiang people to commemorate Chu Suiliang, a loyal minister and great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty.

In the sixth year of Tang Yonghui (AD 654), Wu was made queen, and Chu Suiliang strongly opposed it. Emperor Gaozong was furious and reduced Chu to Tanzhou Prefecture. During his tour of Tanzhou counties, Chu went to Dongxian Temple in Xiangxiang from time to time to talk privately with the abbot and monks about the great cause of the Tang Dynasty. There is a clear pool on the left side of the temple. Duke Chu often writes poems and washes pens in the pool. In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, local people admired Chu Suiliang's calligraphy and personality, so they built a Gong Chu Temple beside the pool. In front of the shrine, a couplet reads, "When the ink clears the pool, when the gold is broken, stay for a while, and it is less true, such as seeing a group of people playing in the sea; The wind knows the grass is strong, and only the emperor cares, and the birds depend on people. "In the second year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1229), Xian Chengshao was confident that Zeng Jun had treated the pen pool, and the book" Tang Dou Gongchu Pen Pool "was listed as one of the eight old scenes in Xiangxiang, named" Pen Marsh Spring Cloud ". The existing poetry pool has been destroyed, but there are still two treasures: one is the Tang Sanzang Preface tablet (now moved to Xiangxiang Museum), which is1.53m high and 0.72m wide. According to the examination, it should be a translation of the preface to the holy teachings of Yanta in Chu. Du Fu's poem Fatanzhou praised "Shu is unparalleled", that is to say, Chu Suiliang, Ou Yangxun, Yu Shinan and Gong Ji were called the four great calligraphers in the Tang Dynasty. Second, there is a stone building on the left side of the porch, about 2 meters high and 0.6 meters wide on all sides. It was built in the first year of Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 132 1).

On 20 19, Gong Chu Temple was selected as the tenth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units in Hunan Province.
