Foreigners ask me why most calligraphy training classes don't teach cursive script. How can I explain it clearly?

The training targets are mostly students, especially primary school students and junior high school students. There is an old saying in China that "don't walk before you walk", that is, you must run first and then learn to walk. The same is true of calligraphy, which must lay a solid foundation. This foundation is mainly the structure of words, so we must ensure the rigor of word structure. When Chinese people were very young, we could not fully grasp the structure of Chinese characters. For us at that time, the strokes of Chinese characters were quite confusing. If it's just a relationship, it may be fine, but there are still some points left, which make us at a loss and don't know what distance to match. The same is true for foreigners who are new to Chinese characters. The cursive writing is very casual, and there are too many places to play by yourself. Random bending does not mean cursive writing, and there is more and more room to play. People without body temperature can only stand uneasily. If we learn to drive in a very open place at first, you can drive at will. You feel good and think you can drive, but when you really drive on these roads, you find that you can't move at all. Being able to drive is just the so-called, not that you can drive, but that you can drive, and so on. The same is true of calligraphy, in which the structure of characters is a very important point, just like the isolation line that limits the width of the road in the middle of the learning car.
