Brief introduction of Han Xu

Peking University is an idyllic place full of poetry and ideals, where many scholars and artists wander and brew. Han Xu must be the most outstanding one, because he is practicing hard and making constant progress. He gained a lot, which made him stand out and become a real scholar artist.

Professor Xu is free and easy in calligraphy and writing. He is good at painting, especially bamboo stones and flowers and birds. His bamboo posture is peculiar, creating a massive image between heaven and earth in a limited space, which should be regarded as the literati's deep thinking and experience of China's traditional pen and ink. I have read Professor Xu's long scroll of flowers and birds, which is full of books. The birds he painted, two or three concise strokes, are full of fun, and the so-called charm is also vivid.

Poetry is the profound meaning of Chinese painting. It is precisely because of its poetic nature that Chinese painting has added new content and given new forms. Professor Han Xu is good at poetry, and his works are readily available. That is his perception of natural images, and also his way of expressing his understanding and ideal of China's traditional cultural spirit and artistic conception.

From Professor Han Xu, we can feel the obvious Confucian flavor, elegant and gentle, but just like reading his paintings, we can feel a powerful and inexplicable scene behind the picture.
