What is Ou Yangxun famous for?

Ou Yangxun is famous for his regular script. Ou Yangxun was a famous calligrapher in Tang Dynasty and one of the four masters of regular script. He, together with Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang and Xue Qi, were called four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty. Because his son Ouyang Tong is also good at calligraphy, he is also called "Big Europe".

In the early Tang Dynasty, both Ou Yangxun and Yu Shinan were famous for their calligraphy, and they were called "random encounters". Later generations see the danger of Chinese books, which is the most convenient for beginners, and it is called "European style".

Representative regular script includes Jiuchenggong Li Quanming, Huangfu Birthday Monument, Huadu Temple Monument, and running script includes Zhong Nimeng's stippling and running script with thousands of characters. He has his own unique views on calligraphy, including eight methods of calligraphy works, teaching strategies and thirty-six methods of brushwork. Huadu Temple Buddhist Pagoda Inscription, Yugonggong Wenyanbo Inscription and Huangfushengchen Inscription are called "the first regular script in the Tang Dynasty".
