Four Great Calligraphers in China and Their Works

The four great calligraphers in China and their representative works are as follows:

Ou Yangxun 1:

Regular script is the most important, the brushwork is steep and the structure is unique, which is called "European style" by later generations. His masterpiece "The Inscription of Liquan in Jiucheng Palace".

2. Yan Zhenqing:

Regular script is dignified and magnificent, and it is known as "Yan Ti" in the world. His representative works include Yan Liqin Monument, Yanjiamiao Monument, Duobaota Monument, and Magu Xiantan Ji.

3. Liu Gongquan:

His regular script is clean and vigorous, with rigorous structure, delicate brushwork and young and straight brushwork. Known as "Liu Style" by the world, his masterpieces include Mysterious Tower Monument and Shence Army Monument.

4. Zhao Mengpin:

Ou Yangxun 1

Ou Yangxun (557-64 1) was born in Linxiang County, Tanzhou (now Changsha City, Hunan Province). Tang Dynasty minister, calligrapher, son of Ouyang Gui, assistant minister of Chen Huangmen in Southern Dynasties.

2. Yan Zhenqing

Yan Zhenqing (August 23, 709-784), born in Jingzhao Wannian (now Xi City, Shaanxi Province), was born in Xianmenzi, alias Fang Ying. Yan Shigu V was a famous official, calligrapher and secretary supervisor in the Tang Dynasty. He was once a famous painter such as Sun and Situ.

3. Liu Gongquan

Liu Gongquan (778-865) was born in Jingzhao Garden (now Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province). An official, calligrapher and poet in the middle Tang Dynasty, the son of Liu Ziwen, the secretariat of Danzhou, and the younger brother of Liu Gongchu, the minister of war.

4. Zhao Mengfu

Zhao Mengfu [f incarnation] (1254,10122 October-1322 July 29), Han nationality, passerby in Song Xue, also known as Taoist of Crystal Palace (Taoist of Water Mirror Palace), Ou Bo, middle-aged in Mengfu. Xing Wu (now Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province) was originally from Lanxi, Wuzhou. From the late Southern Song Dynasty to the early Yuan Dynasty, he was an official, calligrapher, painter and writer, the 11th grandson of Zhao Kuangyin, Song Taizu.
