Introduction to Zhao Boguang’s character profile

Zhao Boguang, formerly known as Zhao Tingyan, was signed by Yihe. Born in Tianjin in 1934. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a director of the China Electronic Excalibur Society, a director of the Tianjin Calligraphy Association, and an advisor to the Hongqiao District CPPCC Calligraphers and Painters Association. He studied under Mr. Li Henian, and was good at the art of calligraphy, silk script, Han official script, and small regular script of the Wei and Jin Dynasties. He was especially good at inkstone engraving. His works were selected into major national and international calligraphy and lettering art exhibitions 18 times, and he won the Excalibur Art Works Award 5 times. He won the Tianjin Lu Xun Literary Award in 1993, the Outstanding Work Award at the Second National Lettering Exhibition in 1995, and the National Calligraphy Hundred in 1997. In the home boutique exhibition, Xiaokai was rated as "Top Ten Outstanding Works" and won the honorary title of "Ten Outstanding Calligraphers of the First Chinese Calligraphy Art Festival". In 1999, he won the honorary title of "Artist with both Virtue and Art" by China Calligraphy Association. There is a regular script "Huai Su Cursive Script Thousand Character Essay" in circulation. Some of his works are collected by art groups or individuals in Zhongnanhai, Japan, the United States, South Korea, Singapore and other countries, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan. Participated in the preparation and design activities of the Forest of Steles on the Huangyaguan Great Wall in Tianjin. Wrote inscriptions and prefaces for the "Forest of Mao Zedong's Poems and Ink Steles" and the "Bamboo Joint Exhibition at the Memorial Hall of Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao" (both have been engraved and are on permanent display). It is a forest of steles and cultural landscapes in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Guangdong and Guangxi, as well as book monuments in Tianjin Confucian Temple and Shandong Confucius Temple. The biography has been included in many dictionaries such as "The Great Accomplishment of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy Art", "Yearbook of Chinese Art", "Collection of Paintings and Calligraphy by World Famous Chinese Artists", "Dictionary of Names in the Modern Chinese Calligraphy Circle", and "Who's Who in the Chinese Contemporary Art Circle".
