Zhang, whose real name is Guan Ze, 1947, is from Tailai County, Heilongjiang Province. Good at Chinese painting and comics. 1968 graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Inner Mongolia Normal University. Graduated from Chinese painting department of Central Academy of Fine Arts. Good at meticulous figures and freehand brushwork landscapes. Most of his works are based on northern customs and historical allusions. He has served as a creator of Zhalaite Banner Cultural Center in Inner Mongolia, Xing 'an League Mass Art Museum and Heilongjiang Painting and Calligraphy Institute. His works include spring scenery in frontier fortress. He is currently the vice president of Heilongjiang Painting Academy, the vice chairman of Heilongjiang Artists Association, the librarian of Heilongjiang Literature and History Research Institute, a national first-class artist, and an expert enjoying special government allowance.
