Historical origin

The west fourth and north sixth lanes are 495 meters long. In the Ming Dynasty, it was called Yanshanwei Hutong, which was named after the avant-garde of Yanshan Mountain. In Qing Dynasty, it was called Wei Yi Hutong, Weier Hutong or Weier and him. 19 1 1 year later, it was renamed Nanwei Hutong, Nanwei Hutong or Nanwei Erhu Hutong, which is different from the North Hutong on the east side of Nancaochang (now Nancaochang Street).

Today's Hutong No.23 is a typical medium-sized quadrangle. The whole park covers an area of 2,500 square meters, facing south, and enters the courtyard in front and back. The gate has a zhaobi, and a pair of horse stones are arranged on both sides of the front steps. The gate is in the southeast corner of the house, with a screen wall inside. There are four inverted seats in the south wing of the front yard, two in the east wing and two in the west wing. The second door on the central axis is the hanging flower door, with verandahs on both sides, and various lights and windows on the wall. There are five in the Second Hospital, three in the East Wing and two in the West Wing. The skirt of the Ming family in the north room is engraved with characters from classical novels such as The Journey to the West and bonsai with flower baskets, and an aisle is built on the east side to communicate with the backyard. Sanjin Hospital has five in the north wing, three in the east wing and two in the west wing. There are grapes, squirrels and potted plants carved on the skirt of the door of the Ming room in the north room. After entering the hospital, building houses has been included in the scope of Xiqitiao, Beisitiao and Jiujian. The wall mountain in the courtyard is covered with brick carvings with less than 10 thousand words, which is a cultural relic protection unit in Beijing.

Hutong celebrity

Chen Banding (1876- 1970) was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. 1894 went to Shanghai to make a living, and met Ren Bonian and Wu Changshuo through the introduction of friends. After that, I stayed in Wuyu, studied painting and seal cutting with him, helped him sort out the materials, and lived together for ten years. During this period, artists such as Wu Guxiang, Wu Shixian, Gao Yongzhi and Lu Lianfu taught him painting principles and techniques. From 65438 to 0906, I got along well with Wu Guandai, He Lu Zhi and Chen Shiceng. Forty years later, at the invitation of Cai Yuanpei, he worked in Peking University Library, and later became a full-time professor at the National Peiping Art School. Participated in or held various calligraphy and painting exhibitions and charity fairs in the 1940s. Since 1950s, he has served as vice president of Beijing Chinese Painting Academy, president of Chinese Painting Research Association, director of China Artists Association, researcher of China Institute of National Fine Arts, librarian of Central Literature and History Museum, member of National Cultural Reform Committee, member of the 3rd China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and member of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th CPPCC National Committees. He was persecuted to death during the Cultural Revolution. He is good at flowers, landscapes, calligraphy and seal cutting. Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Chen Chun, Wei Xu, Shi Tao, Zhao and others have all studied freehand brushwork flowers. Calligraphy is good at cursive writing. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, with the support of friends such as Yan, Yang and Yuan, the Miku No.4 foreign building was purchased. Because the park covers an area of five mu, it is named "Five Mu Garden". In the early days of liberation, Chen Banding was afraid that the "five-acre garden" would attract people's attention. 195 1 bought two houses, No.7 Nanwei Hutong, Hepingmen (now No.6 West Lane) and No.6 Dongxinlianzi Hutong 16. The two rooms (Chen Banding has two wives) live separately. The "Five Mu Garden" of No.4 Grain Depot has been used by Deng Xiaoping and is now the former residence of Deng Xiaoping.

No.34 Xisibei Wicker: Xu Ying Peng Zigang, the Gemini of Ta Kung Pao. During the Anti-Japanese War, Xu Ying went to the northwest battlefield for an interview. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the director of Tianjin Ta Kung Pao Beiping Office. 1936 After graduating from China University in Beiping, Peng Zigang entered the press as a reporter for Shanghai Women's Life, and soon transferred to Ta Kung Pao, becoming one of the most active journalists in the press during the Anti-Japanese War. In the severe period of national peril, Peng Zigang wandered among various political forces in the mountain city of Chongqing, and wrote a lot of political news and social news with sharp and spicy writing. When Mr. Mao Zedong arrived in Chongqing, he reported to the whole country the "good news of maintaining China's past and present history and people's happiness" with the scene of Mao Zedong's great popularity at the airport. The reactionary propaganda of the Kuomintang always portrayed the leaders of China as cruel and violent, and Peng Zigang's close-up showed Mao Zedong's great, simple, kind and easy-going style. The report she wrote reflected the darkness of Chongqing, the capital of Chongqing, and attacked the disadvantages of the times. It also hit the nail on the head and the allegory was clever. For example, her "The Foreign Dog Plane Incident" and Pu Xixiu's "Mrs. Kong loves dogs and flies to Chongqing" reflect the corruption and absurdity of the Kuomintang and stir up the whole country.

Writer Xu Chengbei once lived in an alley and was a middle school classmate with Chen Banding's youngest son.

Wu Yongliang recalled.

1986 in the early winter, I accompanied Xie, the former reporter of Ta Kung Pao, to visit Xu and Peng. They live at No.34, West Fourth North Wicker. Xisi North Street is a deep alley to the west, and it's almost the end. The gate faces north, which is a narrow courtyard with three rooms in the south and three rooms in the north. There is a courtyard wall in the east and a small west room. There are two small trees with dead leaves in the yard, and some hay is crawling on the roof, showing signs of disrepair.

Xu and Peng live in the north house, one for each person, with a main house in the middle. Xu Gong first led us to visit Zigong in the west. The cabin is about seven or eight square meters. There are only two square stools and several old cabinets outside a single bed.

Zi just lay in bed with his eyes closed. Although he is not thin, he looks pale. This famous reporter in the home front during War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's period fell ill in such a simple bedroom, which made people feel a little heavy.
