In the seventh year of Yuanfeng, Su Dongpo finally established himself in Huangzhou, built his own home step by step and transferred to Ruzhou.
In late winter and early spring, he passed through Sizhou on his way to Ruzhou and was invited by local friends to visit Nanshan.
The spring rain is continuous, the smoke and willow are hazy, and it has its own poetry. After the rain, it is another spring scenery.
They had a picnic in the mountains, without greasy fish and meat, and they could smell the fragrance of vegetation through words:
Snow foam milk flowers float in the afternoon light, and Artemisia capillaris buds try spring.
Human taste is pure happiness.

The beach is covered with wormwood, asparagus is beginning to sprout, and puffer fish are preparing to swim upstream from the sea back to the river.
Spring has come, peach blossoms have blossomed, spring water has thawed, and ducks are swimming in the river. Look at the river again, there are Artemisia selengensis everywhere, and reed buds come out of the ground, one after another, short enough to be pulled out and sucked.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery in early spring, the poet thought of what to eat-life experience told him that at this time, the puffer fish was returning to the river from the sea, which was delicious!
I always feel that this kind of poem hides Su Dongpo's true self.

Danzhou belongs to the land of barbarians. Su Dongpo wrote in a letter to a friend: "There is no meat to eat, no medicine to cure diseases, no room to live in, no friends to go out with, no charcoal in winter and no cold spring in summer." There is nothing to ask for.
