What kinds of fonts are there in calligraphy

There are five fonts in calligraphy, namely seal script font, official script font, regular script font, running script font and cursive script font.

1, seal script.

It's a general term for Da Zhuan and Xiao Zhuan. The brushwork is thin and powerful, with many straight lines. There are Fang Bi, round pen, sharp pen, and many hanging needles. Dazhuan refers to Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Jinwen, Jinwen and Six Kingdoms, and retains the obvious features of ancient hieroglyphics. Xiao Zhuan, also known as Qin Zhuan, is the common language of Qin. The simplified Chinese characters of Xiao Zhuan are characterized by uniform and neat fonts, which are easier to write than regular script.

Seal script is the natural embodiment of early Chinese characters. Its brushwork is concise and smooth; Its shape is intentional and its book is interesting. Practicing calligraphy should start with seal script; When the clouds cleared, Li Shu saw himself; Then write the script, and then write regular script. Calligraphy lovers do not seek uniformity, but follow individuality, which will become clear after a long time.

2. Official script.

It is generally believed that it is developed from seal script, with wide and flat font, long horizontal painting and short vertical painting, and pays attention to "silkworm head and goose tail" and "twists and turns". According to the unearthed bamboo slips, Lishu originated in the Warring States Period. According to legend, Cheng Miao was a servant shooter, which reached its peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty and had a great influence on later calligraphy. Calligraphy is known as "Han Li Tang Kai".

The writing method of stippling in official script is obviously different from that in seal script. The stippling in seal script can be summarized into three types: point, straight and arc, and the development of official script has already possessed eight strokes in the eight methods of permanent characters. In terms of strokes, seal script is mostly round, while official script has always been used by Fiona Fang, and the thickness of strokes has changed.

3. Regular script.

Regular script is also called regular script, real script and official script. It gradually evolved from official script, becoming more simplified and more horizontal and vertical. Ci Hai is interpreted as "square, straight and exemplary". This Chinese character font is correct, which is the popular handwritten orthographic Chinese character.

Regular script is also the official name. There are 20 regular calligraphers and 18 regular calligraphers in the provincial history museum of New Tang Book. Regular script, as a formal name, is also called regular script player, who is in charge of calligraphy and writing, and is listed in the same institution because of the different specific division of labor. "Tongdian Official Twenty-two" records that the regular script writer is an outstanding official. There were no regular script players in Song Dynasty, only regular script.

4. Run the script.

Running script is a general term, which is divided into running script and running script. It is developed and originated on the basis of regular script, a font between regular script and cursive script, in order to make up for the shortcomings of slow writing speed and illegible cursive script. "Go" means "go", so it is not as scribbled as cursive script, nor as straight as regular script.

Whether it is cursive or cursive in essence. If there are more ways to open a letter than grass, it is called running a letter; if there are more ways to open a letter than grass, it is called running a letter. Running script is both practical and artistic, and regular script is a literal symbol, which is practical and skillful; Comparatively speaking, cursive script is highly artistic, but its practicality is relatively insufficient.

5, cursive script.

Cursive script can be divided into broad sense and narrow sense. Broadly speaking, regardless of the times, all scribbled words can be regarded as cursive. In a narrow sense, that is, as a specific font. Formed in the Han Dynasty, it evolved on the basis of official script for the convenience of writing. It is characterized by simple structure and continuous strokes.

About from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, in order to distinguish it from the new cursive script at that time. The cursive script of the Han Dynasty was called Cao Zhang. The new cursive script is relatively called today's grass, which is divided into big grass (also called crazy grass) and small grass. It feels beautiful in madness. As Li Zhimin said: "Close to the pool, consider the reason, get the heart from things, realize the image, and then enter the beauty of cursive script."
