Wolong Temple was built at the end of the Tang Dynasty, and it has a history of thousands of years after five generations. Ming Jiajing became a famous temple. During the Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, the Governor of Shaanxi and Gansu presented a stone Buddha to Wolong Temple, and wrote a couplet in calligraphy, "The Falun is turning on the Bodhi Sea, and the net area is full of meritorious springs." In the long historical years, Wolong Temple has experienced many vicissitudes, ups and downs, and has been rebuilt in recent years, making the ancient temple brilliant again.
One spring day more than ten years ago, a good friend and I went to Wolong Temple for the first time. This is a pleasant and unforgettable trip. We started from the county seat with dry food early in the morning and rode bicycles. We are excited about the scenery we have never seen before, but this road is not easy. The bell of Wolong Temple reverberates in my ears, and the gentle breeze brings the fragrance of mountain flowers, which arouses endless ripples in my heart.
We lost track of time. It was not until it rained that we suddenly realized that it was getting late. Suddenly it rained. Intermittent spring rains urged us down the mountain. In the rain, the mountain road is wet and muddy. We slip from time to time and our clothes are covered with mud. I even scratched my finger, but I'm still happy. Today is the traditional annual Buddhist ceremony of Wolong Temple. There are many tourists and cigarettes. Looking back on the past visit to Wolong Temple, it was a taste in my heart. In Wolong Temple, the Guanyin icon is plump and lifelike, surrounded by cigarettes, with purple light burning, loud bells and crisp wooden fish. It is really a clean, solemn and elegant ancient temple, dedicated to the yearning Buddhist holy land. Pavilions and pavilions in the courtyard are unique in architecture. Longquan spirit is like an ancient string, the spring water is crystal clear, cool and delicious, and it is difficult to release after drinking. The pavilion of "Two Dragons Playing in the Water" with cornices at four corners has smooth lines, fresh and bright, volley taps and wind chimes, which jingle in the wind. The huge bronze bell is rich and simple in shape, and its inscription is clear and impressive.
Wolong Temple, because of its unique cultural value, has attracted literati from all previous dynasties to enjoy the scenery and compose poems here. Wang Zijing and Zhenwu, poets of Qing Dynasty, once wrote poems here, praising Xiyan Wolong: "Looking forward to sunny days, green as hibiscus", "Just because old faces really exist, several people have traveled in recent years". The white marble and Guanyin statues shipped from Beijing sit on the lotus platform, vivid and lifelike; Twelve volumes of the newly purchased Tibetan version of Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra from Labrang Temple are placed in the newly-built Tibetan Scripture Building.
