What do you think is the classic directed by Zhang Yimou?

In my opinion, Living is adapted from Yu Hua's novel of the same name, which reflects the fate of a generation of China people through the bumpy life experience of the protagonist Fu Gui. It is also a film with a long span, and it is one of Zhang Yimou's best works. Through a person's life experience, the film covers up the life pain that people's fate can't control in history, and derives a wry smile for death. After decades of ups and downs in life, across the most turbulent historical period, the smallness and helplessness of the characters are vividly presented, in which "being alive" has become the belief of wealth and the creed of the film.
