Wu Shijun (1800- 1883), whose real name is Telford, was born in Beicang. Xuanzong Daoguang in Qing Dynasty lasted for five years (1825) and was a scholar for thirteen years. He has served as a magistrate in Chenxi County, Hunan Province, a magistrate in Chenzhou and Zhili, and a magistrate in Baoqing and Changsha. In twenty-six years, he returned to Li after his illness and was hired by his fellow villagers to give lectures at Fu Jen College.
Wu Shijun was poor all his life and diligent in official management. He is an upright official, a famous poet, scholar and calligrapher. He is the author of 24 volumes of The Book of Changes, 9 volumes of People's Studies, Zhu Rongzhen's Understanding of George 10, A Random Talk on Yan Fu's Reading History, A Brief Discussion on Parallel Prose, Poems on Educating Mountain Residents, and Poems on Fu. And he co-authored The Most Holy Lord with Shen. During the Guangxu period, "Biography of Wu Shijun in Tongzhi County, Hunan Province" contained: "Know Chenxi County and add an academy; Tian Zuqin is in the class, and the scholar has a moral ambition. "
Wu Shijun's family is a generation of scholarly family. Grandfather's name is Ai, born in Tian, and he was born at the age of twenty. He wrote a volume of Selected Poems of Luocun Miscellaneous Style (engraving). Father's name is clear, the word is good, the number is bamboo slope, recommended by people, and kept by officials. Zhang Zao is lonely and his family is poor, but he is determined to study. He began to study poetry after being promoted to the countryside. He is 40 years old and has been a disciple in the countryside. He is the author of Zhupo Poetry, which contains 80 ancient and modern poems, all edited and arranged by Wu Shijun.
Wu Shijun was studious by nature and buried himself in reading all day. I was promoted to Beijing at the age of 25 and tried in Beijing at the age of 33. The examiner at that time was Ruan Yuan, a famous scholar and governor of Huguang. Knowing that he was outstanding academically, he described him as a scholar. He served as a magistrate in Hunan, successively in Qianyang, Chenxi, Qingquan, Lingling, Chaling, Wugang, Changsha and Baoqing, and then moved to Chenzhou and Zhili. In the twenty-sixth year of Daoguang (1846), he left his post and returned to Li. Xianfeng three years (1853), was awarded the title of county magistrate for his meritorious service in organizing group training.
Wu Shijun is a generalist. He goes in and out of hundreds of schools, dabbles in a wide range, and is rigorous and meticulous in his studies. He is not only a teacher, but also has unique opinions. All natural subjects, such as classics, words, sounds, interpretation and exegesis, are actively explored and eventually get sick because of excessive hard work. His thoughts, character, behavior and achievements are fully reflected in his works.
