Mr. Qin Bowei (190 1- 1970) is one of the most outstanding contemporary Chinese medicine practitioners. His outstanding contributions to the theory, clinic and education of traditional Chinese medicine, especially the interpretation and research of Neijing, have set up an immortal monument for modern Chinese medicine.
Mr. Qin Bowei not only has profound knowledge and superb medical skills, but also attaches great importance to medical ethics.
Qin Bowei's grandfather Qin Naige is a doctor with noble medical ethics. "The poor seek medical treatment without asking for anything in return" has been praised by the masses. Grandfather's medical ethics had an important influence on Qin Bowei.
Mr Qin once said frankly that "I will try my best to seek the development of medical care, use my heart to ensure the improvement of people's happiness, and live up to what I have learned", which can be described as hit the floor. He also pointed out: "Conceit, complacency and pride are the great precepts of doctors." In order to set up Chinese medicine education, he wrote a touching poem, "Pour your blood diligently and look forward to the red in the coming year".
1944 at the invitation of Jiang, a famous doctor in Changshu, Mr. Wang inscribed a banner of "the motto of the doctor" in official script. The full text is as follows:
Doctor's motto
Medicine is benevolence, and goodness equals merit. Determined to be strong, the house should be thick. Even if women and children are different inside and outside, they should be as holy and skilled as possible. Learn from teachers and do good deeds; Just roll it open and read it better. Read the books of sages of past dynasties, so as not to deviate from the classics; Referring to the theory of being close to others, you can also learn new things by reviewing old ones. Its success, especially your experience; You can't enjoy fame until you practice. It is difficult to change when it comes to criticism; Prescription should be cautious, and caution should be thorough. Recognize cold and heat yin and yang, and distinguish between exterior and interior. Be accurate in diagnosis and careful not to be frivolous in behavior. Don't show off your strengths and don't attack others. The heart wants to be small but the courage wants to be big, and the ambition wants to be round and wants to do it. In the face of crisis, you can't follow the trend, you must exhaust your wisdom and do your duty; Don't be arrogant when you are poor, do what you can and reduce worries. The groans of patients are often as hungry as they are drowned; Take control of power and kill me while I'm alive. Three fingers rejuvenation, ten full names. If we can maintain this, it is almost impossible.
The original author of this sentence "Medical Way" is Chen Cunren, a famous Chinese medicine practitioner. He is Qin Bowei's classmate in Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Qin Bowei's calligraphy is beautiful and elegant, with clean brush and ink, and calligraphy and prose complement each other.
This "doctor's motto" written by Qin Bowei is not only his precious pen and ink, but also his warning to the medical profession-calling for noble medical ethics.
