Foshan Library is a modern prefecture-level library, located in the center of Foshan, adjacent to the famous Foshan ancestral temple. The library has a building area of nearly 1.8 million square meters, a collection of 670,000 books and more than 3,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and is rich in electronic resources. It is one of the largest document information centers in the Pearl River Delta.
In addition to the usual reading rooms for books and newspapers, Foshan Library has also set up a network information center, a digital resource retrieval center, a language and writing laboratory, a reading room for preschool children and a legal literature center, with 1200 reader seats. In addition, the museum also has exhibition halls, lecture halls, training centers and express printing centers, making the library a multi-functional, high-level and comprehensive venue for cultural activities.

Starting from 1995, weekend public welfare lectures will be held. As the window unit of Foshan's spiritual civilization, Foshan Library undertakes the heavy responsibility of cultural propaganda, promotion and dissemination. On average, more than 100 cultural activities are held every year, with rich and colorful activities. Besides art exhibitions such as photography, calligraphy and painting, and cultural and artistic activities such as music, movies and fine arts, literature, economy, science and technology, music lectures and cultural performances are also held.
