the main study numbers are: Wu Lu. Wu Lu

Ding Hao's study number is Wu Lu. He believes that as an artist, one must first be enlightened. Without enlightenment, one can only stand still on the original basis and never make progress. And so is a person's life. People will inevitably encounter some things in their life. Without understanding, it's like getting into a dead end and being hard on some things, so why bother? His "Wu Lu" was named after these two "Wu Lu".

"Wu Lu" is located in the front building of an old Shikumen building in Hehefang, Huaihai Road, Shanghai. Above the sofa that enters the door, there is a cursive vertical axis written by Mr. Ding: "The pen and inkstone will face the dynasty forever, and the writing will be renewed." There are four large windows facing south, and several pots of green potted plants such as Cycas are placed on the windowsill, which adds a few elegance and spring to the study. There are several bookcases of different heights on both sides of the room against the wall, which are filled with books and picture books. On the big drawing table by the window, Four Treasures of the Study is readily available. A woodcut tablet "Wu Lu" hangs in the middle of the wall, which is particularly eye-catching. After Mr. Ding inscribed the name of his study, he had the idea of carving the name of Zhai on the board. When his students learned about it, they volunteered. Mr. Ding thought it was enough to choose ordinary wood, but his students insisted on choosing a good piece of wood for him. After careful engraving, it has been hung ever since. The plaque is not painted in gold, but in wood, just like Mr. Ding's character, which is unpretentious.

As early as the 194s, Mr. Ding, together with cartoonists such as Zhang Leping, Tao Mouji, Hong Huang and Ye Miao, used brushes as weapons in his study to create cartoons to welcome liberation. After liberation, he first worked in an art workshop under the Art and Literature Department of the Shanghai Military Management Committee, and then he was hired by Xie Haiyan, the dean of the old "Shanghai Fine Arts College" founded by Liu Haisu, to teach at the school. Since then, he has embarked on the road of art education, and has worked hard in this field of art education.

Mr. Ding's works have participated in many art exhibitions in Shanghai and the whole country. In December 1992, Ding Hao held the "Ding Hao Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" in Shanghai Art Museum, with more than 14 works on display. At that time, there were so many visitors that more than 6 people attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Mr. Ding, with white hair but vigorous spirit, is still keen on social undertakings although he is over 8 years old. Recently, he is sorting out a batch of sketches in his study, and is going to select some excellent works to give to the relevant units. He said: "This is also a contribution of an old artist to society!"
