Wu Zhongqi (1907—2006) was born in Changqing, Shandong Province (now Changqing District, Jinan City, Shandong Province). He was a member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, vice president of Jiangsu Painting Academy, director of China Calligraphers Association and chairman of Jiangsu Branch of China Calligraphers Association.

Wu Zhongqi, born in 1907, is from Houdayan Village, Gushan Town, Changqing County, Shandong Province. His family has been farming for generations. 1936, joined the China * * * production party. From 65438 to 0937, he participated in the anti-Japanese armed uprising in Culaishan. Born in the army, he has served as monitor, platoon leader, squadron leader and deputy head of the military region.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he served as deputy battalion commander of the South Brigade. After the brigade settled in Shanghai, it served as the deputy director of Shanghai Prison and the deputy director of Nanjing Cultural Management Committee. After retirement, he still devoted himself to the artistic creation of calligraphy, and published the Collection of Wu Zhongqi Calligraphy Seal Carvings.

Shandong Provincial Government and Jinan Municipal Government built "Wu Zhongqi Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Exhibition Hall" in Wulongtan Park, Jinan City. He used to be chairman of Jiangsu Branch of China Calligraphers Association, director of China Calligraphers Association and consultant of China Calligraphers Association. Young people once scavenged for a living, using green hemp as a pen, square bricks as paper, and clear water instead of ink. Learn from Zheng Wengong Monument, chase Qin and Han Dynasties, and attack stones.

In his early years, he devoted himself to calligraphy and seal cutting, and wrote Dan for the revolutionary martyrs monument many times. Good at cursive script, dabbling in seal script and official script. Calligraphy works have participated in the first, second and third national calligraphy seal cutting exhibitions. Since 198 1, China Calligraphy Association and Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Chinese Painting have held art exhibitions in Jinan and Nanjing. He died in Nanjing on March 29th, 2006 at the age of 100.
