By chance, Ma got to know Japanese Chinese poems, China classical poems and songs written by himself. As if by destiny, "I chose China's poems from each other, which is an intellectual's mission and a pilgrimage instinct from the bottom of my heart." He taught himself Japanese and studied hard for five years, and finally he was able to write fluently.

1987 In the spring, Ma gave a lecture at Fukui University in Japan. At that time, 20 volumes of rare Japanese Chinese poems in China opened his eyes. It turns out that Japan "once had a huge group of China poetry writers that could not disappear and a glorious history of China poetry prosperity." This is a wasteland that has been neglected for a long time, and it deeply contains the miracle of the development history of world civilization. "In desperation, he jumped up and established the comparative subject of Japanese Chinese poetry. After more than ten years of searching, it is common for books to break lines and roll pages, and even they have to "enjoy themselves and go their separate ways" and face untimely embarrassment.

June 5438+October 2004 10 published a monograph, which was praised as "the most comprehensive and exquisite Japanese Chinese poetry research work today". Domestic experts praised him for "enduring loneliness and overcoming setbacks", while Japanese scholars felt that he "introduced Japanese Chinese poetry into the hometown of China's poetry". Second, creating and supplementing the new word "Ma Zhongshan Seal" is another peak of Ma's life. The key to creating new words lies in scientific rigor. Ma established three principles: conforming to the development law of ancient Chinese character structure, based on ancient Chinese character materials and following established laws. Referring to the inscription characteristics of Zhongshan Sanqi, combined with the traditional font structure of Liushu, he excavated more than ten kinds of documents one by one, including Shuowen Jiezi, Guwen Zuan and Jinwen Zuan, and determined 4 14 standard characters.
