The project of "Majiagou celery variety resources protection and standardization technology research and development" was approved by Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau. With the great assistance of pingdu city Quality Supervision Bureau, Majiagou celery production demonstration base was established. Through the measures of purifying and rejuvenating the varieties of Majiagou celery, completing the certification of pollution-free green food, and implementing the graded packaging of celery products, Majiagou celery once again entered the ranks of fine specialty dishes and was put on the shelves of supermarkets in big cities, ending the history of traditional celery being listed in bundles, sold in stalls and sold at low prices. Small Majiagou celery has become a well-known brand of agricultural products.
In order to effectively improve the quality of Majiagou celery and make it invincible in the market, pingdu city Quality Supervision Bureau vigorously promoted agricultural standardized production. In the work of supporting Majiagou celery to become a high-quality specialty dish, the bureau started with standardization, and in 2006 and 2007, it successively issued two local standards, namely "Technical Regulations for the Production of Pollution-free Majiagou celery" and "Majiagou celery", to ensure the steady improvement of celery quality. At the beginning of 2007, Majiagou celery became a geographical indication product.
In 2008, according to the historical experience of planting celery in Majiagou for many years, combined with the investigation and demonstration of soil, irrigation water and related climatic factors, the suitable production area of celery in Majiagou was determined to be 4500 hectares. In 2008, the planting area of celery in Majiagou of Liyuan Street alone reached 3,000 mu, 30 times that of 2002, including 400 mu of core boutique demonstration area. Due to scientific management and suitable climate, the average yield per mu reaches1.2000 kg, and the total output is1.8000 tons.
