Translation of cicada's ancient poems

cicada

Yu Shinan [Tang Dynasty]

When you hang down and drink clear dew, you will hear the sparse tung.

it's not the autumn wind that keeps you aloof.

Translation

The cicada hangs down its tentacles like a hat tassel, sucking the clear and sweet dew, and its continuous chirping comes from the sparse branches of the phoenix tree.

It is because of the height that cicadas can spread far, not by the strength of autumn wind.
