(1) Records of tree bonsai in the Tang Dynasty: Although the word "bonsai" did not appear in the Tang Dynasty, the production technology of tree bonsai was very mature. For example, Li He's poem "Five Little Fu" shows that bonsai has already possessed the beauty of artistic conception, and has reached the artistic realm where the viewer can blend the scene and imagination.
(2) Discovery of tree and stone bonsai in Tang Dynasty: 1972 Two pots of plants on the mural of the tomb of Prince Li Xian of Zhang Huai in Tang Dynasty unearthed in Shaanxi are the earliest bonsai pictures discovered so far.
(3) The maturity of landscape bonsai in Tang Dynasty: The Palace Map painted by Yan in Tang Dynasty shows the image of landscape bonsai as a tribute. The rocks in the basin are exquisitely carved and grotesque, and their shapes meet the stone appreciation standard of "thin, leaky, transparent and wrinkled". There are many descriptions and records about rockery, mountain pond, basin pool, small beach, small pool, hall pool, stacked stone and tired earth mountain in Tang Dynasty literature.
