Chrysanthemum Chrysanthemum
The scoundrel poetry demon invades at dusk, and the sound is lost in silence while walking around the fence and knocking stones.
A fine hair is covered with frost and frost, and the fragrance at the corner of the mouth is chanting to the moon.
The paper is full of self-pity and resentment. Who can explain the autumn heart in a few words?
Since Tao Ling’s commentary, it has been talked about through the ages until now.
Analysis:
This is a seven-character poem written by Daiyu in "A Dream of Red Mansions" with the title "Yong Chrysanthemum".
This poem is titled "Yong Chrysanthemum" and describes the scene of writing chrysanthemum poems.
The first couplet "The scoundrel poetry demon invades at dusk, walking around the fence and scratching the stones to silence the sound", which closely follows the title of the poem and describes how to write chrysanthemum poems, as if possessed by a demon, conceiving from morning to night, walking around the fence Thinking hard. Only those who painstakingly compose poetry can have this real experience.
The couplet on the chin "Every hair is delicate and frosty, and the corners of the mouth are full of fragrance and sing to the moon." It is pretty and beautiful. Only people with beautiful hearts and beautiful mouths can write such wonderful poems.
The neck couplet "is full of self-pity and inscriptions, but who can explain the autumn heart in a few words?" The inscriptions in the poem are all ordinary sorrows. Who can understand this sentimental mood? This is clearly expressing the poet's own feelings through "Ying Chrysanthemum". Only Daiyu is so sentimental, and she is not understood by some people.
The tail couplet "Ever since Tao Ling commented on it, it has been mentioned through the ages to this day." The noble character of chrysanthemum has been discussed by the world since it was praised by the poet Tao Yuanming. Tao Yuanming was famous for his love for chrysanthemums, so ending with this can be described as a stroke of whimsy.
Notes:
1. Poetry Demon: The poet’s unstoppable creative impulse. Bai Juyi's "Nine Books of the Yuan Dynasty": "Those who don't know me think they are poetry demons."
2. Autumn heart: the feelings of autumn. Autumn and heart combine to form the word "chor". Wu Wenying's poem "Tang Duoling" says: "Where can sorrow be combined? It's autumn when it leaves the heart."
3. Tao Ling: Tao Qian, whose name is Yuanming. Eastern Jin Dynasty writer and poet. He once served as the magistrate of Pengze County, so he was called Tao Ling. In his poem "He Guo Zhubo" he wrote: "The chrysanthemums bloom in the forest and the green pines crown the rocks. With this pure and beautiful appearance, Zhuo is a outstanding figure under the frost."
