[Bamboo School] Lesson 178 ‖ The Touch of Poetry: Borrowing, Changing and Adapting.

Speaker/Teacher Bian Yi

The touch of poetry refers to borrowing, changing and using the classic poems of predecessors for their own use, blending into their own artistic conception and making innovations (that is, their own feelings and thoughts). This is not a simple imitation or plagiarism. The poetic theory of Jiangxi School headed by Huang Tingjian in Song Dynasty is called "turning stone into gold" and "turning iron into gold".

Chairman Mao's Seven Laws? The People's Liberation Army occupied Nanjing. "The tiger's dragon card is better than in the past, unstoppable and generous." The dragon tiger is borrowed from Yu Xin, a writer of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, "In the past, the dragon tiger was purple with a yellow flag." Refers to the Nanjing area, where Zhongshan in the southeast is like a dragon pan and Shicheng in the west is like a tiger. I remember that Li Bai also used this sentence in Song of the Eternal King, that is, "Tiger lives in the Dragon Pan Imperial Capital, Jinling Di Zi, and visits the ancient hills". ? There is also Jia Xuan's Niannujiao, which seems to quote "Where is the tiger, where is the dragon, but it is ups and downs." "Pan" and "Pan" have similar meanings, so they can be linked together. As for the above-mentioned "upside down and generous" in Mao's poems, the first thing is to borrow "upside down and who knows, now I hope Beidou is in the south" from Tang and Shi Ba Pai. Sentence; The second is to borrow the lyrics of "Listen to me", the legendary script of Peach Blossom Fan written by Confucius in Qing Dynasty, that is, "one clapper is soft and firm, and three clappers are generous". In Mao's poems, the phrase "If there is affection in the sky, you will be old" is borrowed from the Tang Dynasty's "Song of Golden Copper Immortals to the Han Dynasty". "Lan Xiang sees off guests at Xianyang Road, and if there is affection in the sky, you will be old." Sentence. Mao Ci "Langtaosha? The bleak autumn wind in Beidaihe "The bleak autumn wind is now another world" borrowed the sentence "The autumn wind is bleak and choppy" in Cao Cao's Yuefu poem "Looking at the sea" and Du Fu's poem "Yu Xin was the most bleak in his life, and his poems stirred up the river in his twilight years. " ? Du Fu once praised Yu Xin's "Fu on the South of the Yangtze River", which is desolate and desolate, vigorous and powerful, and has the character of Wei and Jin Dynasties. The phrase "three feet three feet away from the sky" in the sixteen-character order written by Mao Ci gave an ancient folk song. Some people may say that this may be just a coincidence.

So personally, it doesn't matter whether it is borrowing or coupling. As long as it is your own true feelings, it is a good work if used properly.

To change is to change individual words. Mao Zedong's words "He Xinlang? Farewell to friends "Wave from here" comes from Li Bai's "Farewell to friends". "We waved goodbye, and my horse neighed again and again. Just change the word "from" to "from". ? "Bodhisattva man? The phrase "Sunset after Rain" in Great White Land comes from the phrase "Sunset after Rain" in Bodhisattva Man, which is also the word "que" rather than "fu". "The seven laws? The sentence "I want to have a lonely dream" in Farewell to Friends comes from the sentence "My heart and dream are in Wu and Yue" in Climbing Mount Tianmu in my Dream. Just change "Five Mountains" to "Vast".

"Niannu jiao? The phrase "Three Million Flying Dragons (Snow Mountain)" in Kunlun comes from Zhang Yuan, a poet in the Song Dynasty. (Like snow) "has just changed from" fighting "to" flying ". Of course, don't think that borrowing or changing careers is necessarily worse than the original. If used well, it can be used in the next level, or it may be icing on the cake and spread through the ages. Yongmei's famous sentence, Lin Bu's Xiao Mei in the Mountain Garden, is the best example of this sentence. This sentence was changed from Jiang Wei, a poet in the Southern Dynasties. "Bamboo shadows are shallow, and Gui Xiang floats at dusk." Only two words have been changed in the two poems: bamboo is sparse and Guangxi is dark. Chiang wrote autumn scenery, referring to bamboo and laurel; Lin Shi wrote about the scenery in winter, especially plum blossoms.

Use is to borrow others' meaning, make a slight change, and integrate your own feelings into the poem, with a proper tone. Personally, I think there are the following types:

1, expand the original sentence?

I remember once talking about Tang Jiayou's "egrets flying in paddy fields, orioles flying in summer trees." Wang Wei added two groups of overlapping words "Mo Mo" and "Yin Yin" in front of these two poems, which made the scenery vivid and turned decay into magic.

2. compress the original sentence?

Mao Ci "Man Jiang Hong? Guo Moruo's "It's not easy to shake a tree" comes from Tang Hanyu's "Tiao Zhang Ji", which is ridiculous and immeasurable. The phrase "the west wind comes out of Chang 'an" comes from Jia Dao's Poems of Jiang Yi Going to Wu Chu. "The west wind blows the Weihe River and leaves fall all over Chang 'an." And Zhou Bangyan's "Qi Tianle" words "West wind in Wei River, falling leaves in Chang 'an, empty memory of poetry." Or it is the third fold of Bai Pu's Sanqu Wu Tongyu and Pu Tianle's Sorrow for the Old Country, West Wind Wei Shui, Setting Sun Chang 'an. " ? "Besides, I remember Qin Guan's words in" Wandering Fang Ting ","Outside the sunset, 10,000 points are in the west of Western jackdaw, and the water surrounds the lonely village ",which seems to come from the short sentence of Emperor Yang Di," 10,000 points in the west of Western jackdaw, and the water surrounds the lonely village ".

Step 3 reverse the word order

Mao's poem "Four Wonders"? The first four words of the sentence "Brave Five-Foot Gun" inscribed for the female militia are reversed from "Heroically Killing the Enemy" in Du Fu's "Dan Qing Xing"; The "waves of sand" mentioned above? The first four words of Beidaihe's sentence "bleak autumn wind today" are also reversed by "bleak autumn wind" in Cao Cao's poem "Watching the Sea".

4. Adjust the individual words in the original sentence and recombine the sentences.

For example, Cao Zhi's Seven Wounded Poems, "The bright moon shines on a tall building, and the time flies back and forth", is the application of China's ancient poem "The bright moon shines on a tall building and wants to see Yu Guanghui" written by an anonymous person.

"I woke up, and the moonlight shone on the rafters, like your face, still floating in the air." In Du Fu's poem "Recalling Li Bai", the original meaning of Cao Zhi's poem was also used.

In the Tang Dynasty, Wei's poem "Your wet sail drags, and the shadow bird flies slowly" borrowed the poem "The wet flower feels heavy, and the bird flies late"

The poem "wildfire never quite consumes them, the spring breeze blows high" in Bai Juyi's Farewell to the Ancient Grass is based on Li Bai's waterfall poem "The sea breeze keeps blowing and the moonlight shines on the river". ?

Wang Bo's famous phrase "The sunset is lonely in Qi Fei, and the autumn water is * * * the sky is one color" is written according to the poem "Shooting a horse in the Garden" written by Yu Xin, a poet in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. "Fallen flowers and wisdom cover Qi Fei, and willows are the same color as spring flags." The former wrote about spring hunting in the army, while the latter wrote about autumn scenery around the pavilion.

5. Turn the previous poems into poems.

Mao ci "recent love? From Tingzhou to Changsha, "the hurricane fell from the sky for me" is completely opposite to Du Fu's "having a kind word, white hair hanging down my ears". Wu Hu sang a song to mourn, hating too much for me.

"Water tune song title? Swimming "only drinks Yangtze River water and eats Wuchang fish" is also an inversion of the meaning of the folk song "drinks Jianye water and doesn't eat Wuchang fish" in the Three Kingdoms period.

6. Deepen the poetic content of previous original sentences.

Mao Ci's Bodhisattva Man? The Yellow Crane Tower "Yellow Crane knows where to go, but there are still tourists" just deepens Hao's Yellow Crane Tower poem.

Wang Weishi mentioned earlier that "an egret flies over a quiet wetland, and a mango bird sings in a tree in midsummer." It is also an example.

Finally, personally, I think that we should cherish our feelings and endow ourselves with poetic, original and profound significance, whether we learn from them, adapt them or change them, otherwise we will inevitably be suspected of plagiarism. I just hope everyone can make good use of it.
