Li Bai's longest poem

The five-character autobiographical poem "Tian En Liu Yelang Nostalgia for the Governor Jiang Haozai" was written by Li Bai, which is the longest poem in Li Bai's poetry collection.

This poem was written after the An Shi Rebellion broke out. Li Bai was pardoned on his way to exile Yelang and stayed in Jiangxia. The poet reviewed his life course, first described the origin and experience of becoming an immortal, then described the process of making friends, expressed his political innocence and desire to be an official actively, expressed his political feelings, expressed his love for the country and his worries about the future. The two most popular sentences in this poem are "clear water gives birth to hibiscus, natural carving" It means: to be like a hibiscus flower that has just emerged from the water, without secular carving and decoration, also means that literary works should be as natural and fresh as a hibiscus flower that has just emerged from the water. These two poems also praised the natural freshness of Wei Taishou, a good friend, and expressed Li Bai's own views on poetry, advocating the pure beauty of nature-this is the article style that Li Bai has been pursuing and advocating, and opposing redundant decoration and carving. The same is true of Li Bai's own works, and later generations often quote these two sentences to evaluate the beauty of Li Bai's poems and plain faces.
