Seventy-two Skills of Shaolin and Jiuyang Zhenjing

Eastern Sacred Mountain

In Jin Yong's martial arts system, the martial arts of various sects in the Jianghu are vast and complicated. I'm afraid even the fairy sister Wang Yuyan may not be able to make all the threads clear.

First, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism

But judging from the philosophy embodied in Jin Yong's works, there are mainly three systems: Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.

The integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism has always been a main line of China culture. This paper will try to analyze Jin Yong's martial arts system from this angle.

Second, the level of Wushu.

The martial arts of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism seem to be all-inclusive and self-contained, but they are carefully divided into the following levels:

The first level, Skills, skills, skills are formulas from the beginning, and the most basic entry kung fu of various sects is like the formula in Go.

At first, all factions followed the formula step by step. Shaolin, for example, has 18 methods of learning boxing, 36 kinds of internal and external instruments and 72 kinds of stunts.

Wudang Changquan was also introduced from Wudang, and gradually developed into an instrumental fencing by Zhang Mian, Tian Zhen and Zhang Tie.

Another example is the fencing of Huashan School. You play "welcome guests with pine", and I play "have a charm". Lu Dayou, who is generally qualified in Huashan School, didn't learn "Feng Lion" until the fifth year.

At this rate, there are dozens of changes in each kung fu, and there are more than 1000. Even if you don't learn internal skills, it will take decades to learn these moves.

However, even if you recruit all the mathematics, you may not be able to become a first-class master. Ling Huchong, the first disciple of Huashan Sect, was beaten by Tian Boguang, a flower thief, and hid in the Jade Garden to avoid disaster.

It is not easy to reach the top level in skills. For example, Shaolin's seventy-two stunts can master a seventy-two stunt, and it is already a master in the Jianghu.

The second layer, technology and methodology.

Further up is the technique, that is, the convention, which is often no longer limited to the norms and forms of tricks, but more lies in methodology and application.

For example, the Yijin Sutra in Shaolin talks about breathing, breathing, breathing.

There are 360 changes in the total formula of nine swords alone. "broken arrow style" breaks all fashionable swordsmanship. When the ninth style "expired style" is fully learned, there are also ways to crack the internal masters.

The great move of Gankun and the application of force, acting force and reaction force belong to the flexible application of Newton's classical mechanics and stimulate human potential.

There are very few people in the Jianghu who can reach the level of surgery.

The third layer, Tao, is philosophy and theory.

On top of technology is Tao, such as philosophical thoughts on which various sects depend.

Buddhism is based on Buddhist scriptures. For example, Jiuyang Zhenjing is a Buddhist scripture in Shurangama Sutra.

Tao mainly expounded the classics of Laozi and Zhuangzi, and the bard Bei Ming cited Zhuangzi's "Happy Wandering" in great numbers.

Confucianism, such as chivalrous spirit, is hidden in Li Bai's chivalrous poems.

To reach the third realm of Tao, besides natural adventures, it is more about thinking and understanding.

The level of martial arts is second, and it is more about the elaboration, induction, generalization and abstraction of the laws of things.

For example, the master who wrote about the great move of Gan Kun, although he had a strong internal force, only reached the height of the sixth floor, but he wrote the seventh floor with his understanding of martial arts.

From the martial arts strength alone, this master may not be better than Zhang Wuji, but from the Taoist point of view, he is much better than Zhang Wuji.

Third, the paradox of practice

As far as martial arts is concerned, most sects are gradual, from shallow to deep.

For example, the Shaolin Sect generally learns Shaolin Changquan after getting started, and then learns arhat boxing and Khufu boxing after getting familiar with it. It has a good foundation of internal and external skills, so you can learn from Wei Tuo's palm or Chiba's hand with great compassion. At the top, there are seventy-two Shaolin stunts, dragons, fingers and so on. And this stunt, not everyone can learn, depends on personal talent and diligence.

The duke of mount deer Prajnaparamita Hall was the first person to become a monk in Shaolin Temple at the age of eight, and began to practice Shaolin Changquan at the age of eleven. He was very lucky. He worshipped famous teachers and devoted himself to martial arts for more than 70 years, never leaving the temple gate until he was 53 years old.

It took 42 years of painstaking cultivation to learn the stunt of one finger Zen. Not only that, with the speed of practicing one-finger Zen for 42 years, it ranked third in Shaolin Temple for more than 1000 years.

What is even more surprising is that since Dharma, no one has practiced all the seventy-two stunts of Shaolin Temple. The most one, who has only practiced thirteen, is called thirteen unique skills. The Shaolin School has been established for hundreds of years.

In this way, Shaolin Temple's martial arts violated the human learning curve. According to the learning curve, you should learn faster and faster, but why is it slower and slower?

Jin Yong has a very interesting setting for Shaolin School in his novels. The seventy-two unique skills of Shaolin Temple are incompatible with each other. "Prajnaparamita has the internal skill of Prajnaparamita palm, Maha refers to Maha refers to internal skill, and Dajing Kongquan has the internal skill of Dajing Kongquan, which are distinct and incompatible with each other." ?

To learn seventy-two stunts, you must be talented and diligent, and you must also be based on Buddhist scriptures. Every time you learn one of Shaolin's seventy-two stunts, your anger will increase by one point. You must rely on the study of the corresponding Buddhist scriptures to resolve the violent spirit, so that you can continue to improve your practice. If we ignore the study of Buddhism and value martial arts over Buddhism, even a genius who has not been born for hundreds of years will lose his martial arts because of the internal incompatibility between stunts.

As a result, a paradox appeared:

To learn more stunts, you must learn more Buddhist scriptures. I have learned more Buddhist scriptures and increased my wisdom, so I don't need to learn more stunts.

From this point of view, Shaolin Thirteen is too obsessed with his own obsession. Other eminent monks will understand the truth after practicing five or six stunts, but his old man may not understand it after practicing thirteen.

What is even more peculiar is that if you practice seventy-two stunts without corresponding Buddhism, and then forcibly practice the Yijinjing at a higher level, you may even run the risk of being possessed. Even a master like Mo Zhi, a Tibetan Buddhist, has lost his martial arts.

It can be seen that if you want to practice to a higher level, it is not enough to practice more at the primary level. Just like playing monsters at the same level in the game, the experience gained is decreasing until the last experience, which is a waste of time.

Fourth, Tao

So what is Tao at the top talking about?

For example, Jiuyang Zhen Jing is a book written by Dharma in the Shurangama Sutra:

"He is strong by him, and the breeze blows the hills. He let him pass, and the bright moon shone on the river. He is self-defeating, he is self-defeating, and I am full of anger. " -talk about how to "give priority to me"

"... first control your body with your heart, follow others, not yourself, follow your body, follow your heart, and follow yourself. If you are self-imposed, you will live ... don't move, move, move. The strength seems wide but not loose, the strength does not show, and the strength keeps breaking ... "-It is about how to move strength purposefully, gain motivation, and then arrive first.

In a trance, I suddenly heard the chain clanking behind the tree next to the forest of steles. One person recited Buddhist scriptures: "When Wang Li asked about the medicine fork, that is, boundless Zimbabwe was like a human being, saying," Love breeds anxiety, love breeds fear; If you leave your lover, you will have no worries and fears ... "—— The Yijing translation Buddha said that the wonderful color king has karma, and it is about cause and effect.

Even fewer people can reach this level, and there is nothing in it.

Five or seventy-two stunts or Jiuyang Zhen Jing

How can we cultivate to a higher level?

Jin Yong's novels are mostly completed in the following States:

You must let go of your obsession: Mo Zhi, Xiao Yuanshan and Murong Bo are all excellent experts, but they are too persistent. Once you let go of your obsession, you can become a Buddha.

It is necessary to be put to death, epigenetic: The Diamond Sutra. On his deathbed, Di Yun was able to break the cocoon into a butterfly and practice the Diamond Sutra.

You have to give up to get it: for example, sunflower collection (snickering)

No phase, no phase: small and no phase.

I forget both things and things: the magical power of Jiuyang

The cultivation of supernatural powers often succeeds in adversity.

Sixth, workplace practice.

Personal practice in the workplace is similar to martial arts. In large enterprises, the job responsibilities are divided very carefully, and everyone is doing his own work like a screw.

I often hear that I have done my job very skillfully, and I want to try something new and different, and I want to know how to get to by going up one flight of stairs.

It is good to try different things, but it is more important to know what you need and why you want to try new things. What's more important is the ability to read, expound, summarize, abstract and model quickly, so that you can quickly model and deduce what you have learned and apply it to new things, so that even if you fail, you can quickly summarize and reverse Gan Kun.

The result of trying new things is often turning around. However, there has been no substantial change.

If you want by going up one flight of stairs, you must work hard in your thoughts and realm until you die. Especially those who have accumulated a certain amount, it is more difficult to dare to abandon skilled methods and try a higher level of internal skill. Only by opening the limitations of thinking and constantly expounding, summarizing, generalizing, abstracting and deducing the operating rules of things can we improve our self-cultivation and open up the road of by going up one flight of stairs.

Whether you want to practice seventy-two stunts or Jiuyang magic depends more on your goal and realm!
