Longyan does not belong to Quanzhou. Quanzhou and Longyan are both prefecture-level cities under the jurisdiction of Fujian. Fujian Province now governs 9 districts and cities in Fuzhou, Xiamen, Putian, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping and Ningde and Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone (Pingtan County). The provincial capital is Fuzhou.
Next, I will briefly introduce Quanzhou and Longyan.
Quanzhou:
Quanzhou is surrounded by mountains and faces the sea. It is warm and humid all the year round, and it is like spring all the year round. The ancient poem says that Quanzhou "has flowers in four seasons and thunder without snow in one winter", so Quanzhou has the elegant name of "Wenling". It is one of the first historical and cultural cities in the State Council, the cultural capital of East Asia and the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. With profound cultural heritage, it is known as "Zou Lu on the seashore", "Museum of World Religions" and "City of Light".
Here, you can see the inclusiveness of different sects. Take Tumen Street as an example. On this short street, one side is Guandi Temple, and the other side is a mosque separated by a wall, diagonally opposite, which is the site of Indian Orthodox Church. This kind of tolerance may only exist in Quanzhou.
When you admire Quanzhou's tolerance, its traditional lifestyle will open your eyes. Quanzhou people have various rituals about life: shrimp noodles in the long summer, meatballs in the winter solstice, Yuanxiao in the Lantern Festival, and moist cakes in Tomb-Sweeping Day ... Every festival has different rituals and enjoys different ingredients.
In my opinion, Quanzhou is a very interesting city. It really hides the soul and spirit of Minnan. If you are willing to get to know her carefully, you will definitely fall in love with her.
Longyan:
Longyan is an inland coastal city, a transportation hub and an important channel that extends the two wings of the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait, connects the two continents and expands the hinterland. As a Quanzhou native, my biggest impression of Longyan is the red base area. Longyan is an integral part of the old revolutionary base area in China and the Central Soviet Area, and it is one of the starting points of the Long March. Seven counties (cities, districts) are all counties in the central Jiangsu Province, enjoying the reputation of "the red flag will not fall for twenty years". In addition, Longyan has also produced many sports stars. For example: Lin Dan, Shi Zhiyong, He, Zhang Xiangxiang.
