During the Shu-Han period, Zhuge Liang invaded the south and once sent troops to deploy in this generation.
After the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Futong, a businessman from Taipingbao, longnan county, Jiangxi Province, renamed "Luohongkou" as "Lupingchang" to commemorate his ancestor Zhu's lecture at Bailudong Academy. Later, Zhu's descendants renamed it "Taipingdu" in order to miss the "Taipingbao" in his hometown, which is still in use today.
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, due to the traffic demand of Sichuan salt entering Guizhou, a waterway post station was set up here. Many salt merchants flocked to Taiping to set up a number, and merchants gathered and the trade was busy. Taiping ferry is full of boats, masts are like forests, and things flow smoothly, so the ancient town is becoming more and more popular.
In the 1920s and 1930s, Taiping Town became a famous commercial center in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan.
In the twenty-fourth year of Min 'an (1935), the Red Army arrived in Taiping Ancient Town on the Long March and began to cross Chishui four times.
1958, Taiping Town established the earlier Red Army Long March Revolution Memorial Hall in China.
1983 was included in the series of China Tourism World Today and introduced to the world in seven languages.
1996, the monument and exhibition hall of Sidu Chishui, the Red Army of Chinese workers and peasants, was built, and was named as the patriotic education base of Sichuan Province by the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government.
In June, 20001year, Taiping Town, where the exhibition hall is located, was approved by the Propaganda Department of the CPC and announced as the second batch of patriotic education demonstration bases in China.
In 2005, the memorial scenic spot was included in the national 100 red tourism classic scenic spot and 30 boutique routes.
In 2006, with the approval of the relevant provincial departments, the monument was restored, supporting the construction of a memorial site of 1.800 square meters, the renovation and expansion of a memorial hall of 2,000 square meters, the construction of a parking lot of 3,000 square meters, the maintenance and renovation of Hong Jun Street, the construction of a 3-kilometer walking trail, the construction of four tourist public toilets, and the addition of 1 scattered Red Army sculptures and reliefs in the square outside the memorial hall.
In 2007, it was approved by the Ministry of Construction as a national historical and cultural town, and it is one of the eight famous towns in Sichuan Province.
In 2009, the second phase of the Red Army's Long March Fourth Crossing Chishui Taipingdu Memorial Site was implemented. Repair and protect the Red Army confidential room, the Red Army General Political Department, the General Command, the Red Army Hospital, the Red Army Bank and other important nodes and 28,000 square meters of ancient buildings to restore historical scenes.
20 1 1 April, Taiping ancient town was rated as "Top Ten Most Suitable Streets and Alleys" in Sichuan Province.
