“Kunming Pond is shallow, and watching fish is better than Fuchun River.” This is Mao Zedong’s poem praising “Kunming Pond”. I can’t forget to drink tea in the Guangdong Sea, and the leaves in Yuzhou are yellow. Thirty-one years later, I returned to my old country and read the beautiful chapter when the flowers are falling. Complaining too much will prevent heartbreak. People should take a broad view of the long-term scenery. Don't forget that the water in Kunming Pond is shallow, and it is better to watch fish than in Fuchun River. "Kunming Pond" is an area of ??blue waves under the Wanshou Mountain in the Summer Palace in Beijing. This makes people suddenly wonder, how can the artificial lake dug in the capital be connected with the name of a place in distant Yunnan?
The word "Kunming" was first seen in Sima Qian's "Historical Records: Biographies of Southwest Yi". It refers to the name of a nomadic people with numerous tribes in the southwest during the Qin and Han Dynasties. At that time, among the ethnic minorities in Yunnan, "the large ethnic group of Yi people was called Kun, and the small ethnic group was called Sou." The nomadic people living in the Erhai area are called the Kunming people. They live with water and are good at living on water and marching and fighting.
During the Western Han Dynasty, in order to defeat the Xiongnu, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sent Zhang Qian as an envoy to the Western Regions, and joined forces with Da Yueshi and other countries to attack the Xiongnu. In 122 BC, Zhang Qian returned to the capital Chang'an after going through many hardships. When he reported the situation in the Western Regions to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, he said that he had seen Chinese Shu cloth and Qiong bamboo sticks in Daxia, today's Afghanistan. , trafficked to India today, which shows that there is a road from Yunnan to India, and it is very close. He strongly advised: Daxia really wanted to communicate with China, but was worried that the Huns would obstruct it. If you go to Daxia from Shu County after being poisoned, the road is short and convenient, which is beneficial and harmless.
According to Zhang Qian's suggestion, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty sent envoys to the southwestern barbarians to find a way to cure themselves of poison. When they arrived in the Dian Kingdom, the King of Dian sent more than a dozen groups to find a way to cure themselves of poison. After more than a year, the road was blocked by the Kunming tribe near the Erhai Lake in Dali, and they ultimately failed to cure themselves of poison. After the Han army returned, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty dug an artificial lake with a circumference of 40 miles in the shape of Erhai Lake in the southwest of Chang'an, and called it "Kunming Pool". The Han army practiced sailors here, preparing to use force to open the road to Shendu. In 109 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty invaded the Dian Kingdom and the whole country surrendered. Subsequently, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty unified the Erhai area. Many years later, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty renamed the West Lake in the Summer Palace in Beijing "Kunming Pool" out of admiration for Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty's pioneering achievements.
Back then, what Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was looking for was the Southern Silk Road? The poisonous road to Shu. It traveled from today's Chengdu to Myanmar and India via Dali. This trade route facilitated communication between Daxia and the Han Dynasty, and also connected a place in distant Yunnan with Beijing. At that time, Mao Zedong wrote a poem to Liu Yazi, "Don't forget that the water in Kunming Pool is shallow, and watching fish is better than Fuchun River." It was precisely to point Kunming Pool away from the capital and invite people of insight to gather in Beijing to display their political ambitions. Liu Yazi understood this and wrote, "As clear as the water of Kunming Lake is, it may not be as bright as the rich river." From then on, he settled in Beijing.
Dong Dao En dares to forget, the dragon in the Central Plains fights with blood. Famous gardens allow me to add poetic materials, and unofficial histories are composed of short chapters based on people. The cats of Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty had hatred, but the martial arts of Tang Yao and Han Dynasty had energy. The water in Kunming Lake is so clear, but it may not be as bright as the rich river.
