Two classic letters from Panasonic.
I'll ask. I don't have to say anything,
Clouds in the sky and water in a bottle.
This poem was written by Li Ao, the magistrate of the Tang Dynasty.
Li Ao heard that Jackson Yaoshan was a famous monk, and wanted to see his true colors, so he asked around, waded through mountains and rivers, and finally found Jackson Yaoshan who was meditating under a pine tree on a hill. Li Ao respectfully asked for enlightenment, but Jackson Yaoshan ignored it. As a satrap, Li Ao has always been arrogant. Why is he so left out? Finally, he couldn't help but say sarcastically, "It's better to meet someone than to be famous!" " After that, I was about to leave angrily. Jackson Yaoshan suddenly said, "Why do you treat Zhong Er lightly?" Why do you only trust your ears and not your eyes?
Hearing this, Li Ao moved slightly in his heart and asked, "What is a world summit?"
"I don't have these idle things here!"
"How do I practice?"
"Standing on the top of a high mountain, walking on the deep seabed!" I saw Master Yaoshan pointing at the sky with one hand and the water in the bottle beside him with the other, closing his eyes and refusing to speak again.
Li Ao realized that mountains and seas were not real mountains and seas. Standing on the mountain is higher than the mountain, diving into the sea is deeper than the sea. This just means that when you want to improve your spiritual life, you can't stick to the comments of the world. The mountain is the height of the soul that ordinary people can't understand, and the sea is the sea of wisdom that ordinary people can't touch. You can't give up the last fundamental insistence, and you can't find your true self after all.
