Sanxingdui is located in Guanghan City, Sichuan. So far, eight sacrificial pits have been discovered in Sanxingdui. The newly discovered six sacrificial pits have certain orientations and are connected like the Big Dipper. The Yan Family Courtyard was first discovered in 1921, fifteen miles to the west, with the three-star Yuedui. Before 1986, official archeology was conducted. Pit No. 1 and Pit No. 2 were discovered, and 6,000 cultural relics were unearthed. After sleeping for thousands of years, they shocked the world when they woke up. In December 2019, Pit No. 3 was discovered, opening a new chapter in archaeology. In September 2020, Pit No. 4-8 was launched, with multi-disciplinary coordination and high-tech archaeological methods, and an epic excavation.
