First, writing a poem for the first time
My father was born in a corner of a mountain in Changning County. Like many parents of his peers, he didn't study for several days due to historical reasons. The only difference is that he is a person who loves learning, and he also likes dancing, writing and drawing. When we were very young, my father bought many books and newspapers for us to read. I remember buying a book called "Selected Couplets of China in Past Dynasties", which is very thick, with thousands of pages. It contains famous couplets from all over China for thousands of years. The following chapters are some methods and essentials for teaching people to write couplets. I like this book very much, because I can not only increase my knowledge, but also learn various interesting stories.
Until now, decades later, I still remember some famous couplets in this book, such as the couplets praising Hunan's scenic spots, "Changde Deshan has virtue, Changsha has sand and water but no sand"; Satire the couplets of officials in the late Qing Dynasty: "Hefei, the prime minister, is thin in the world, and Changshu, the farmer, is barren in the world"; There are also people who express their ideals and ambitions, such as Shi Dakai's "How many heads there are in the world, let's see how the old school means it" and so on. Because we are reading couplets, my father asked us to write couplets. Every Spring Festival, my father will buy red paper and pen and ink, and let us children who are still in primary school write their own Spring Festival couplets. Spring Festival couplets must be compiled by yourself and must not be copied from others. Therefore, we also received writing training in entertainment.
One weekend one year, our sisters did their homework together. Father asked the three of us to write a poem for him. It was raining in Mao Mao outside the window. You know, in spring and summer in Changning, it often rains for many days. According to the situation at that time, I thought for a few minutes and then wrote a poem to my father. This poem is written like this:
Flying in the rain, the rain is beautiful.
When you look forward to your return, there are only tears left.
After reading my poem, my father praised it greatly. This poem seems unremarkable today, but I was only eight years old and a child. So he felt very good after reading it. I copied this poem neatly in my diary and wrote a sentence beside it: a poem written by my son when he was eight years old. Decades later, this book is still well preserved by my father. Moreover, this incident has greatly inspired me and made me like writing more.
Second, the new farmers' market in Changning County was completed, and I participated in the couplet collection activity for the first time.
My family used to live in Caoqiao Street, the county seat, not far from Changning County Farmers' Market. The new farmers' market was built and put into use in the 1980s. Agricultural products are sold on the ground, and clothes and various small commodities are sold above the second floor, so the farmers' market is particularly lively, and clothes are also bought there on holidays.
After the completion of the new farmers' market, a pair of couplets will be carved on both sides of the gate, so relevant departments will collect works from the society. At that time, I was still a primary school student. I didn't know that I had few natural resources, so I wrote a couplet and sent it out. There was no news at all. I remember the couplet was written like this:
Sigh how hard people's lives are, buy some side dishes;
May the motherland have fewer difficulties and invigorate the economy!
This is my first submission, and the mailing cost me a dime. As a result, I was silent, always unwilling and lost. Every time I pass by the gate of the farmer's market, I always look up involuntarily, hoping that I wrote the couplet engraved at the door.
Thirdly, I wrote a couplet for the school canteen.
After entering middle school, my study became very tense. At that time, in addition to normal classes in the morning and afternoon, there were night lessons at night. In addition, our head teacher is strict, requiring us to go half an hour earlier than other classes in the morning and postpone school for half an hour in the evening. So we get up at five o'clock in the morning and get home at ten o'clock in the evening. It's hard at the end of the day. Because of too much homework, I eat in the school cafeteria every noon and evening.
I have been a very frugal person since I was a child, and I can't bear to eat and wear. If the conditions at home are not good, you can save it. At that time, eating a meal ticket in the school cafeteria cost 20 cents, and the canteen master would cook three or two meals for you, and then vegetarian dishes were free, and only when eating meat dishes did you need extra money. I only eat 20 cents a meal. I don't know how it happened during that time. The only free vegetarian dish in the school cafeteria is Chinese cabbage, probably because Chinese cabbage is cheap. As a result, I ate Chinese cabbage twice a day for nearly a month. I ate too much, and then I felt sick when I saw Chinese cabbage!
So, in a fit of pique, I wrote a couplet to laugh at myself and said:
Korean cabbage, evening cabbage, daily cabbage, clear and white;
First today, first tomorrow, first next time, as sure as a gun.
I can still study hard at that time. There are seven classes in the whole grade, with 70 or 80 students in each class. Basically, I can keep the top ten in every exam. So it's a bit exaggerated to say that you are the second best couplet!
In the 1980s, those schools in Changning County had only doormen and no security guards. I don't know why, at that time, some unemployed young people in society liked to make trouble at school. When we are studying, we are most afraid of two people at school, one is the head teacher and the other is the PE teacher.
The PE teacher in our class graduated from a regular sports school and studied martial arts. At that time, he was young and just married. At first, several tall people in our class were not convinced of the PE teacher, thinking that he was showing off his martial arts, so they often provoked him. When I was in physical education class one day, these students offered to make gestures with him again, and the PE teacher readily agreed this time. After some warm-up, the PE teacher said to them, let's go together! So the students swarmed, and in a few minutes, they were all knocked down. From then on, everyone believed in this PE teacher.
Our PE teacher never beats or scolds students, but sometimes he will come up with some strange tricks to deal with disobedient students. For example, let those students who are unorganized and undisciplined practice frog skills. This "frog technique" is practiced like this: students put their hands behind their backs and people squat down and jump forward. Everyone dances dozens of times and sleeps at night. I got up the next morning and my legs were shaking when I walked. Hold the stairs up and down the stairs. Otherwise, your legs will be weak and you will sit on the ground involuntarily. All the students who have practiced "frog skills" are not dishonest afterwards.
Because young people often come to make trouble around the school, our school has set up a "school guard team" to select tall students to participate. Several physical education teachers in the school are the team leaders, equipped with flashlights and sticks, patrolling the campus every night and escorting students home on the road near the school after school.
One day, after the evening self-study, seven or eight social youths, on their way to school, cheekily pestered a female student to make friends with her, and were not allowed to go home privately, scaring the girl half to death. At this time, my PE teacher came with two school nurses. Seeing all this, the PE teacher loudly stopped their misconduct. These people not only failed to restrain themselves, but rushed to beat up the PE teacher. Our teacher is really not a vegetarian. Within five minutes, all these people collapsed to the ground. The students saw it and applauded together. These people were later taken away by the police station.
Some pride,
Courage is a hero!
Later, this couplet became my own "motto". No matter where I go, even in a strange place, I will tell myself not to be arrogant, but not arrogant; Don't be Nuo Nuo, be bold and cautious. Although I have not become a so-called hero, I am willing to be an upright person all my life!
