Bai Juyi
A sunset gradually sank into the river, half green and half green.
The loveliest thing is the ninth day of September. The bright pearl's bright crescent moon is shaped like a bow.
To appreciate a poem, we must first understand the background of the author's writing, and appreciation without background will not be comprehensive and thorough. This poem was written by Bai Juyi on his way to Hangzhou as a secretariat in the second year of Changqing (822). At that time, politics was dark, and the struggle between Niu and Li was fierce. The poet has experienced the ups and downs of being an official in the imperial court and is unwilling to associate with them again. He volunteered to work elsewhere. This poem reflects the poet's relaxed and happy mood after leaving the court.
After reading this poem, two paintings will naturally appear in front of you. One is the beauty of the blue waves of the sunset, and the other is the beauty of the quiet night hanging at the beginning of the crescent moon.
In the first painting (the first two poems), the finishing touch is the word "shop". It is not a "photo", a "wipe" or a "shoot". The word "shop" is gentle, and it says the softness of autumn sunset, giving people a cordial and leisurely feeling. It's really wonderful to savor it. "Half the river is rustling, half the river is red", the weather is clear and windless, the river flows slowly, and there are tiny ripples on the river. The part that receives more light shows "red"; Where there is little light, there is dark blue. The poet grasped the two colors on the river, but showed the scene that the river was sparkling at dusk and the color changed rapidly in the sunset. Although these two sentences are about scenery, we can see from the description of the scenery that the poet is intoxicated and pinned his joy on the description of the scenery. This is the antonym of this poem.
The second painting (the last two poems) depicts the night scene when the new moon rises on the third day of September. Connecting the first two sentences, from the sunset to the new moon rising, and then to the riverside grass covered with crystal dew, we can see that the poet has been immersed in the beautiful scenery for a long time unconsciously. Happy time is the shortest, and the poet should be in a good mood at this time, so he has been enjoying the beautiful scenery by the river, completely intoxicated and unaware of the hasty loss of time.
The appearance of the two paintings reflects the poet's relaxed and happy mood, and reflects the poet's feeling of getting physical and mental pleasure from the intrigue of court officials. Through chanting one thing after another, the inner feelings are naturally expressed in a smile and a song.
