Appreciation of the English Translation of Du Fu's Selected Poems Qintai

Du Fu's Selected Poems Qin Tai Du Fu Series: Du Fu's Selected Poems Qin Tai

The original Maoling 1 fell in love with Zhuo Wenjun after his illness. The restaurant is on earth, and the piano is in the sunset. Wild flowers leave a treasure, while creeping weeds see the skirt. Going back to Phoenix to ask for a burn, I seldom smell it.

Note 1 Maoling: an ancient county, in the northeast of Xingping City, Shaanxi Province, here refers to Sima Xiangru.

When Sima Xiangru was old and frail, he still loved Zhuo Wenjun as he did at the beginning, and his feelings never weakened. Sima Xiangru's family was poor and living in distress, so he opened a hotel to make a living. I strolled on the piano platform, looking at the blue sky and white clouds in the distance, and my heart was full of envy! Seeing a bunch of wild flowers beside the piano platform, I feel like Zhuo Wenjun's smile in those days; Clusters of green creeping weeds, just like the Robbie skirt that Zhuo Wenjun wore in those days. Sima Xiangru's pursuit of the miracle of Zhuo Wenjun was almost unheard of later.

Appreciating this Poem is one of Du Fu's masterpieces in his later years, which was created after he paid tribute to the remains of Sima Xiangru's Qintai in Chengdu. Poetry is unusual when it is written. "After Maoling's illness, he still loves Zhuo Wenjun", and the poet wrote about the sincere love between Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun in his later years. With the deep love between the two in their later years, the beautiful feelings between their hearts also faded. The sentence "Life in a Restaurant" has changed a lot, from describing Xiang Ru and Wen Jun's later life to describing their young age. When she was young, Zhuo Wenjun gave up her status as a rich girl in pursuit of pure love and became a "wine seller", which was later passed down as a beautiful talk. Du Fu recounted the past in his poems and expressed his sincere appreciation for Zhuo Wenjun. The phrase "Sunset Clouds over Qin and Taiwan" returns to what the poet saw from a distance, and the scenery is full of emotion and charm. Imagine the poet wandering alone on the piano, quietly looking at the dusk and blue clouds in the distance, thinking about the loving life of Wen Jun in those days, how envious he was! The neckline reproduces the beautiful image of Zhuo Wenjun in those days. The phrase "Wild flowers are precious, but creeping weeds see skirts" is an illusion caused by the scene before us. The poet looked at the wild flowers and creeping weeds beside the piano, as if he saw Wen Jun wearing Robbie's dress and smiling like a flower, which was very romantic. The couplets are concise and clear, which effectively reveals the main idea of the whole poem. "Rare", that is to say, there are almost no people who bravely pursue a better life and resist secular etiquette like Xiang Ru and Wen Jun. Du Fu, a poet, appropriately expressed his dissatisfaction and regret with the reality when he hung the piano on the platform to recall the past.
