At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the imperial court was decadent and the people were poor. People from all walks of life rose up in succession, and Li Zicheng was one of them. Li Zicheng's troops once made a name for themselves by opening warehouses to help the hungry. Many people followed him and his power immediately increased. He put forward the slogan "Don't pay for all fields", and the people were so grateful that they made up a ballad "Welcome the king without paying for food".
In the seventeenth year of Chongzhen, after Li Zicheng occupied Xi 'an, he claimed to be the emperor with the title of "Dashun". Subsequently, Li Zicheng attacked Beijing, Chongzhen hanged himself, and the Ming Dynasty perished. Li Zicheng, who won the hearts of the people, entered Beijing, but was vented by the army, bringing innocent people into trouble and complaining. Li Zicheng also killed dozens of Wu Sangui family members, captured his father alive, and robbed his woman Chen Yuanyuan, which forced Wu Sangui to submit to the Qing army.
Angry Wu Sangui and the Qing army joined forces to defeat Li Zicheng. The Qing army went all the way south and fired red cannons. Li Zicheng was forced to flee south. Li Zicheng fled to a village, when there were not many insurgents. During the war, the peasants armed themselves and set up a self-defense force. Before Li Zicheng, people had come to the village to rob food, so farmers were on high alert when they saw Li Zicheng's army.
When Li Zicheng and his men came down to grab food, they met with stubborn resistance from farmers. In the battle between the two sides, Li Zicheng was killed. Later, the villagers realized that it was Li Chuangwang who was killed. The villagers were afraid of being retaliated by Dashun Army and fled overnight. Li Zicheng himself was the leader of the peasant uprising army, but he was killed by the peasants. This is a great tragedy. After Li Zicheng's death, his Dashun army group was leaderless and in a mess, and it could no longer be a climate.
