At the end of 1992, Lei Gang and Guo Tao from the original Crossroads Band joined the newly formed Pink Fog Band, including "Zhao Ge" composed by 1992 in the summer. Since then, the band has formed a preliminary lineup, including lead singer Lei Gang, guitarist Yin Hongbo, bassist He Chenggong, keyboard player Yang Jing, drummer Lei Yu and agent Guo Tao.
1March 6th, 993 is an unforgettable day for every member of the band. At Haidian Theater in Beijing, the band held a rock concert with Awake and Wa, two other rock groups active in underground music, and showed their three works, The Beginning of Life, Brother Zhao and Primitive Zone. The wonderful performance showed the audience one.
Paradise band is the product of the coming and going trend of Beijing rock band, and its members have been in several other short-lived bands. This time, they finally signed the ambitious Red Star Club in the name of "Paradise" and released the album soon. In terms of musical style, Paradise is one of the many followers of Panthers, but obviously it can't be compared with the early Panthers (Dou Wei period) in creation and interpretation. The most valuable works in the record are the folk song "Brother Zhao", colloquial narrative lyrics, simple melody, simple acoustic guitar and harmonica interlude. Lei Gang, the lead singer and songwriter, worked in another band earlier, but it was quite smooth. The low-key lyrical "Nobody there" is quite audible, and the immature lyrics are full of youthful bookish spirit; Other songs are hard to praise, the lyrics are rough, the melody is mediocre, and the imitation traces are heavy; Tears of an Angel, once dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the victory of anti-fascist War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, is now a brilliant masterpiece for children born in world wars. It is also a juvenile work that mechanically applies the anti-Japanese war song pattern, which makes people see the author's poor creative motivation at a glance. In instrumental performance, it is surprising that the members of Paradise Band are eager to express themselves, and every musician has found an opportunity to show his "skillful" skills. Among them, the keyboard player who works as half of the arranger is the most impressive. Those harsh voices make people suspect that it is the first time that the player touches the keyboard and makes some strange effects to satisfy his curiosity. Presumably, the opportunity to record the album came too early, and everyone went shirtless before integrating their respective positions, so everyone desperately showed their importance. In Lei Gang's words, "the immaturity caused by youth in creation is inevitable, and the shortcomings in production are even greater." Before signing the contract with Red Star, the audio-visual company they cooperated with didn't arrange enough producers, so the album was almost rushed without the control of the producers. Although Red Star made a lot of repairs in post-production before the release, the defects could not be completely eliminated, so "The Beginning of Life" was not a satisfactory work for the band.
