Tanzhe Temple: Branches and flowers, Buddhist retreat

There was Tanzhe Temple first, and then the Forbidden City.

There is an old saying in old Beijing. Now, it is called "smashing people". But it also tells the history and status of Tanzhe Temple. It has a history of 1700 years since the Western Jin Dynasty.

Tanzhe Temple, occupies the best time, place and people.

There are 9,999 rooms and 999.5 rooms in the Forbidden City, the Tanzhe Temple in the heyday of the Qing Dynasty. It can be seen that this Tanzhe Temple not only has a long history, but also has a close relationship with the royal family. From Emperor Xizong of Jin Dynasty to the incense, he paid for renovation and expansion, and emperors of all dynasties rushed to follow suit. Otherwise, how can it be called "the first temple in Kyoto"?

This "Kyoto First Temple" is located at the foot of Tanzhe Mountain in the western suburbs of Beijing, with its back to Mount Everest and facing south. The nine high peaks around it are horseshoe-shaped, which makes this place warm and humid, and also creates the spectacular beauty of mountains and peaks. Among them, there are many famous flowers and ancient trees, and there are more than 80 national first-and second-class protected ancient trees/kloc-0, which is really "flourishing, to a Buddhist temple."

There are many stories about the flowers and trees in Tanzhe Temple. Feel free to walk around and see, this eyeful of flowers is red and green, and each branch can tell a story.

Well, the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree behind the Ursa Hall is called "Imperial Tree". The tree is more than 40 meters high and 4 meters in diameter. It takes six or seven people to hold it. It is said that the name "Imperial Tree" was sealed by Emperor Qianlong when he visited the temple. It is the highest title given to trees by the emperor so far, and its position is far above the famous "Wudi Fusong" and "Yinhou".

According to legend, in the Qing Dynasty, every time a new emperor ascended the throne, a new cadre was born from the roots, and then gradually merged with the old one. It's about that in the 1960s, the last emperor Puyi visited Tanzhe Temple, pointed to a twig on the northeast side of Imperial Tree that didn't match the trunk, and laughed at himself: "This twig is me, because I didn't succeed, so it grew into a crooked-neck tree."

You see, there are two unusual trees in the courtyard of Zhaitang Courtyard. The tree is more than 20 meters high, nearly 1 m in diameter, with wide branches and leaves, which looks like a white candle inserted in a big tree from a distance. On closer inspection, it turned out to be a big tree with seven leaves, oval dark green leaves and clusters of white flowers in full bloom. It turns out that this is Sulu tree, a Buddhist holy tree native to India. Buddha Sakyamuni was worshipped by Buddhists for nirvana under the Miluo River tree. Even these two big trees are over 600 years old. Miluo Tree in Tanzhe Temple is the largest and oldest of the ancient temples in China.

Even more amazing is the "Pepsi Ruyi Tree" in Tanzhe Temple. A cypress tree and a persimmon tree are born together, but they are like a couple hugging each other. People take the homonym of "Pepsi" as "persimmon", so it is called "Pepsi Ruyi Tree". As we know, cypress belongs to the evergreen tree of Cupressaceae, and persimmon belongs to the deciduous tree of persimmon. It is rare that two different kinds of trees can coexist, live in harmony and not repel each other. According to legend, if you touch the "Pepsi Ruyi Tree", everything will go well within one year. So tourists come here to touch the trees and pray for good luck. Now, a smooth indentation has been found on the trunk more than one meter high.

It is said that the trees in Tanzhe Temple are strange, and its bamboo is also strange.

"Green leaves only smoke jasper branches, and after ten days, they will clear their shadows and take to the streets. No one has seen the festival in Shuang Ling, and the phoenix is humble all day long. " This is the "Bamboo Slips of Tanzhe Temple in Tan Yong" inscribed by Emperor Kangxi when he visited Tanzhe Temple. It can be seen that the bamboo in Tanzhe Temple is famous. The most famous bamboo species in the world are "gold inlaid with jade" and "gold inlaid with jade".

"Gold inlaid with jade" means that there is a long green longitudinal groove on the trunk of the golden bamboo, and the sections are staggered, so it is also called "Golden Jasper Bamboo" or "Gold Hanging Jade". "Jade inlaid with gold" means that there are thin longitudinal grooves with gold on the trunk of green bamboo, and the sections are staggered, which is also called "golden bamboo in jasper" or "hanging gold jade". It turns out that these bamboos are collectively called "Gracilaria lemaneiformis" and their hometown is in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This "gold inlaid jade" and "gold inlaid jade" are good names given by Emperor Kangxi.

The bamboo and wood in Tanzhe Temple are wonderful, and the flowers and plants are even more splendid. Magnolia grandiflora in Er Qiao, a famous flower in Beijing, is hidden in the temple in spring.

We used to have Magnolia grandiflora and Magnolia grandiflora. When you are lucky, you can see the purple magnolia, but you have never heard of or seen "Er Qiao Mulan". What's magical about this flower?

Legend has it that during the Three Kingdoms period, Wu Dong Qiao Gong's daughters Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao looked like fairies, Da Qiao married Sun Ce, and Xiao Qiao married Zhou Yu. There is an old saying: "Little Joe got married for the first time. Heroic hair, feather fan and black silk scarf. Talking and laughing, I was eliminated. " What kind of spirit is this? This kind of magnolia in Tanzhe Temple is very delicate and rare, with purple in white and alternating with two colors, so it is called "Er Qiao" and "Er Qiao Mulan". According to research, these "Er Qiao Magnolia" plants were planted in the Ming Dynasty and have a history of more than 400 years. This ancient "Er Qiao Magnolia" can only be seen in Tanzhe Temple, and it is also a must.

How's it going? So I will only wander in the east and west, just like catching a train in Spring Festival travel rush. Inhale oxygen, watch the scenery, listen to stories, relax tense nerves and slow down the tense rhythm. This is life.
