When will the moon appear in the blue sky? I'll stop for a drink and ask. The moon will never reach the moon, but it is very close to the people.

As bright as a flying mirror near Danque, the green smoke goes out, but when you see the night coming from the sea, you would rather know that it has gone to the clouds.

The white rabbit plays medicine in autumn, revives in spring, and Chang 'e lives alone with whom. Now people are not seen in Gu Yue, but in this month they took the ancients.

The ancients said, if people are running water, they look at the bright moon. Just look at the glass and sing loudly, and the moonlight can grow in a golden cup.

Creation background

It is difficult to date this poem. According to the annotation under the heading "Drinking asking for the moon", this poem was written by the author at the request of a friend. Some people think that it was written in the third year of Tianbao in Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (744).

Brief introduction of the author

Li Bai (70 1-762), whose real name is Taibai, also known as "purple laity" and "fallen fairy", was a great romantic poet in the Tang Dynasty, and was praised as "poetic fairy" by later generations, and was also called "Du Li" with Du Fu. In order to distinguish himself from two other poets, Li Shangyin and Du Mu, that is, "Little Du Li", Du Fu and Li Bai merged again.
