If you cover up the author's name and read this poem "The First Spring Rain in Lin'an", you may not think that it was written by Lu Fangweng, who was an "iron horse" and "swallowed the remaining prisoners".
Although the poem contains the beautiful jade color of spring apricots, it also contains the sentimentality of "the taste of the world is as thin as gauze" and the boring melancholy of "idlely working on grass" and "playing with tea".
This seems inconsistent with the majestic and tragic poetic style of Lu You who "serves the country wholeheartedly".
After Lu You became an official for several years, he lived dormantly in his hometown in Shanyin. Although he was far away from his official career, he had a deeper understanding of the harshness of the world.
The first couplet of the poem uses a clever metaphor. He says at the outset that "the taste of the world" is as "thin" as sand, and suddenly asks, "Who made the horseman travel to Beijing?" The author was sixty-two years old, his official career was up and down, his ambitions were unfulfilled, his emotional life was unfortunate, and he had no way to serve the country. This actually aroused the question of "who" in him.
The chin couplet points out the "poetry eye", which is also a famous line:
"Listen to the spring rain all night in the small building and sell apricot flowers in the Ming Dynasty"
In the small building, I listened to the sound of pattering all night long. When I got up the next morning, I heard the sound of selling apricot blossoms in the deep rain alley, and the light brocade of spring light filtered through my ears, flowing through the mouth of the flower seller. It can be said that flowers are seen in poetry.
In fact, "the small building listens to the spring rain all night" means that the continuous spring rain is just like the melancholy of a retro travel hotel. When I wake up from the dream, I can't let go of the word "one night" lightly. It coincides with the poet's feelings about his family and country, and it comes to my heart along with the sound of rain.
Li Shangyin's poem "Leave the withered lotus to listen to the sound of rain" implies the thought of cherishing friends, while Lu You's performance is more reserved, and his selfless state is like a strange wind blowing. Although the words are clever, the intention is to express the reality of one's grievances, and it is with this splash of time as the background that one can walk hand in hand with the affectionate and lonely Shaoxing young master.
The neck couplet expresses the poet's mood at that time. Wandering in the fragrant path of the small courtyard, the spring mash is newly brewed. The poet "walks on short paper and makes grass leisurely". Living in Beijing as a guest, he is extremely bored, so he spends his time writing in cursive and drinking wine. And because the light rain has just begun, it is said that under the "clear window", the snow foam floating on the cup "plays with tea with fine milk".
At this time, the country is in troubled times, but the poet is throwing away his years. What a shame! So with the resentment and concern in my heart, I wrote the last two sentences.
The last couplet not only expresses the ups and downs of traveling abroad, but also contains the evil turbidity of Beijing, which may be transformed by it after living for a long time. So after seeing life clearly, it is better to go back.
The poet uses his own meaning here, but in fact he is helplessly mocking himself.
"The First Spring Rain in Lin'an" has no heroic singing, no mourning, no angry words, and no tears, but only calm and reserved and a little delicate flowing slowly, " Don’t leave this feeling in your heart!”
The poet's character is complex. A bold martyr will inevitably have moments of gentleness and affection. This is not a contradiction. Only when one is miserable can generosity flourish.
The poem "The taste of the world is as thin as gauze" is a denial of reality and also reflects the author's integrity. The last sentence of the poem shows the poet's disdain and disdain for glitz.
Therefore, through the surface of the original poem, we can vaguely know that Lu Fangweng also wanted to be a "iron horse falling into a dream" with a naturally great personality when he was alone in the crane and flying.
