The more detailed the introduction of Lingyin Feilai Peak in West Lake, the better.

Feilai Peak in front of Lingyin Temple, also known as Ling Jiu Feng, is168m high, and the mountain is made of limestone. Due to the long-term dissolution of groundwater, many strange caves and caves have been formed, such as Longhong Cave, Yuru Cave, Shexu Cave and Huapei Cave. These caves have their origins and are very legendary. The grotesque rocks in Feilaifeng Temple, such as dragons, running elephants, crouching tigers and frightened apes, seem to be a stone zoo. Gu Teng, an ancient tree on the mountain, is intertwined; Rock bones are exposed with sharp peaks and edges. Yuan Dao, an Amin, once said, "The peak on the lake should be the first." According to predecessors' records, there used to be 72 caves in Feilai Peak, but most of them have disappeared due to the age. Most of the remaining caves are concentrated in the southeast of Feilai Peak. ?

There are more than 340 statues of Five Dynasties Buddhist grottoes on the slope of Feilai Peak facing Lingyin Temple, which is a rare ancient grottoes art treasure in southern China, comparable to Dazu stone carvings in Sichuan. Su Dongpo once wrote the poem "Xi Mountain is everywhere, and I love Lingyin Feilaifeng best". Stone carvings include the Three Saints of the West (Five Dynasties), the relief of the Lushena Buddhist Society (Northern Song Dynasty), the monk in the bag (Southern Song Dynasty), the Buddha with the hand of King Kong, the King of Many Smells and Guanyin (all in the Yuan Dynasty), all of which are rare art treasures. What is particularly striking is the smiling Maitreya Buddha, whose chest is bare and abdomen is exposed. This is the largest statue in Feilaifeng Grottoes and a masterpiece of sculpture art in the Song Dynasty. ?

At the eastern foot of Feilaifeng, there is Xiatianzhu Temple (Fajing Temple), an ancient temple in the Sui Dynasty, which runs southwest along the stream, and then there is Zhongtianzhu Temple (Fajing Temple), which was built two years later than Xiatianzhu Temple, and Shangtianzhu Temple (Faxi Temple), which was built in the Five Dynasties, which are collectively called "Three Tianzhu". ?

There are many legends about the origin of the name Feilaifeng. According to legend, Huili, an Indian monk, came to Hangzhou more than 0/600 years ago. When he saw this peak, he was frightened and said, "This is jiusan Ridge, the spirit of Tianzhu. Why did you fly here? " Therefore, it is called Feilaifeng. It is also said that one day the Jigong monk of Lingyin Temple had a whim and knew that there was a mountain peak in the distance. At that time, there was a village in front of Lingyin Temple. Jigong was afraid that the flying peaks would crush people, so he rushed into the village to persuade everyone to leave quickly. Because people in the village are used to seeing Jigong playing tricks on people, and think that this time is for everyone to have fun, no one listens to him. Seeing that the mountain peak was about to fly, Jigong was in a hurry and rushed into a bride's house, picked up the bride who was meeting the bride and ran away. When the villagers saw the monk robbing the bride, they all shouted and chased him out. People were chasing, when suddenly they heard the wind whistling, the sky was dark and there was a "rumbling" sound. A mountain peak flew down in front of Lingyin Temple and overwhelmed the whole village. At this time, people realized that Jigong robbed the bride to save everyone, so they called this mountain "Feilaifeng". ?

When you visit Feilai Peak, you will see that this mountain has no rocks, no trees, no caves and no secluded places. It is absolutely beautiful. Its landscape is quite different from the surrounding peaks. Wandering in the remote and profound Buddhist atmosphere of Lingyin, Feilaifeng and Santianzhu, you can fully appreciate the charm of Buddhist art and truly feel the heavy historical and cultural charm hidden between the mountains and rivers of the West Lake.
