Brief introduction and detailed information of Feilaifeng

Introduction

On the hillside of Feilai Peak facing Lingyin Temple, there are more than 34 Buddhist grottoes statues all over the Five Dynasties, which are rare ancient grottoes art treasures in the south of China, comparable to Dazu stone carvings in Chongqing. Su Dongpo once wrote a poem that "Xi Shan can be found everywhere, and I love Lingyin Feilaifeng best". Jiangnan Jingshi has a philosophical poem "Feilaifeng": "When tourists stop at the mountain, they will become a mystery. You should know that things change with the times, so don't say that you don't fly when you come. " (The Collection of Mount Jing Tang is self-explanatory: face to face, look at each other.) Stone carvings include the Western Three Saints (Five Dynasties), the relief of the Lushena Buddhist Society (Northern Song Dynasty), the Bag Monk (Southern Song Dynasty), the King Kong Hand Bodhisattva, the Heavenly King, and the male Guan Yin (all in the Yuan Dynasty), all of which are rare art treasures. What is particularly striking is the smiling Maitreya Buddha, which is bare-chested and bare-bellied. This is the largest statue in Feilaifeng Grottoes and a masterpiece of the sculpture art in the Song Dynasty. At the eastern foot of Feilaifeng, there is Xiatianzhu Temple (Fajing Temple), an ancient temple in the Sui Dynasty, which runs southwest along the stream, and then there are Zhongtianzhu Temple (Fajing Temple), which was built two years later than Xiatianzhu, and Shangtianzhu Temple (Faxi Temple), which was built in wuyue in the Five Dynasties, collectively known as "Santianzhu".

When you visit Feilai Peak, you will see that this mountain has no rocks, no trees, no caves and no seclusion, and it is absolutely beautiful. Its landscape is quite different from the surrounding peaks. Wandering in the remote and deep Buddhist atmosphere of Lingyin, Feilai Peak and Santianzhu, you can explore and fully appreciate the charm of Buddhist art and truly feel the rich history and culture hidden between the mountains and rivers of the West Lake.

45 yuan in Feilaifeng Scenic Area and 3 yuan in Lingyin Temple. Legend

It is said that one day, on a whim, the monk Jigong of Lingyin Temple knew that a mountain was coming from a distance. At that time, there was a village in front of Lingyin Temple, and Jigong was afraid that the flying mountain would crush people, so he rushed into the village to persuade everyone to leave quickly. Because people in the village are used to seeing Jigong crazy and playing tricks on people, they think that this time it is for everyone's fun, so no one listens to him. Seeing that the mountain peak was about to fly, Ji Gong was in a hurry, so he rushed into a bride's house, picked up the bride who was meeting the bride and ran away. When the villagers saw the monk robbing the bride, they all shouted and chased him out. People are chasing, suddenly heard the wind whirring, the sky was dark, and there was a "rumble". A mountain peak flew down in front of Lingyin Temple, overwhelming the whole village. At this time, people realized that Jigong robbed the bride to save everyone, so they called this mountain "Feilai Peak".

2. Feilai Peak, also known as Lingjiu Peak, is 168 meters high. According to one legend, the Indian monk Huili came to Hangzhou more than 1,6 years ago. When he saw this peak, he said in surprise, "This is the small ridge of Jiushan Mountain, the national spirit of Tianzhu. Why did you fly here?" Therefore, it is called Feilai Peak.

There are grotesque rocks, lush ancient trees and caves all over the place. It is said that there are 72 caves, most of which have been lost.

This is the famous ray of skylight. You can hear the gurgling sound of water in the six caves. There is also an ape-calling cave on the west side of the mountain. According to legend, the monk Hui Li called for the black and white apes. Cold spring ape whistling was once one of the ten scenic spots in Qiantang.

there is a cold spring at the west foot of Feilai peak, which is hidden in the depths of the green shade. The spring water is crystal clear as jade. On the surface of the pool, there is an underground spring water with a bowl-shaped mouth. No matter whether the stream rises or falls, it gushes endlessly, flying pearls and splashing jade, like playing nature. Shen Shitian, a painter in Ming Dynasty, said: "The scenery on the lake is hidden, and the scenery is alone in the cold spring." Cold Spring Chi Pan has a cold spring pavilion.

The Lingjiu Pagoda, the rational public pagoda at the mouth of Longhong Cave in Feilai Peak, is the only existing Ming Pagoda in Hangzhou. It is made of stones and has six sides and six floors, which is extremely rare. The whole tower is divided step by step from bottom to top, and its structure is unpretentious and unique.

The Cuiwei Pavilion, located halfway up the Feilai Peak in Lingyin, is small and exquisite, with winding mountain paths beside it and hidden among pines and ancient trees. It is simple and dignified. This pavilion was built by Han Shizhong, a famous anti-gold star in the Southern Song Dynasty, to mourn Yue Fei. There is a couplets cloud on the pavilion: "When the road turns to the peak, we will return to Tibet, and the empty people in the pavilion will look up to the former sages." Today's Cuiwei Pavilion was rebuilt on the original pavilion site in 1924.
